finding out that cell killed trunks in another timeline to steal his machine is such a dark twist and it really makes you wonder how many versions of the future are actually out there

i was losing it when he explained having the cells of frieza and vegeta and then he just casually throws out a kamehameha to prove it

those empty clothes scattered all over the street are so creepy and they make cell feel like a horror movie monster instead of just another guy for the team to fight

this episode feels like a complete shift in tone because the way cell just stalks around that silent town is genuinely unsettling for this show

it was hard for me to watch piccolo get his arm sucked dry by that stinger but seeing him rip the dead weight off was the coolest thing he has done in years

Knowing that this monster killed Trunks in another timeline just to come back here is so dark and it really changes how you look at the time travel stuff

Piccolo acting like he was defeated just to get Cell to talk was a total pro move, but seeing his arm shrivel up like that was genuinely hard to watch.

My skin was crawling when Cell started talking about absorbing the androids to reach perfection and I really hope Piccolo can find a way out of this mess

Cell having the memories and techniques of all the fighters is such a terrifying concept and it makes him way more threatening than Dr Gero ever was

The way the city was just a ghost town with piles of clothes everywhere felt so haunting and Piccolo was the only one smart enough to realize what was going on

The whole timeline situation with Future Trunks is honestly starting to make my head hurt a little bit but I am totally here for the horror movie atmosphere this episode was giving off. I seriously did not expect Cell to be this creepy especially after he explained how he had to kill Trunks just to steal that time machine and get here.

Finding out that Cell has cells from Goku and Frieza and everyone else is such a cool twist and the way he just threw out a Kamehameha was wild

That scene where Piccolo gets his arm drained by the tail was nasty and you can really feel how much of a freak this new guy is compared to the androids

I think I might actually have nightmares from seeing Cell suck that guy dry and leave his clothes on the sidewalk like that and he just looked so gross standing there

Cell having the DNA of King Cold and Frieza is a terrifying thought and he basically has no weaknesses. The horror vibes in this episode are totally different from anything else

Seeing Piccolo trick a monster that literally has his own cells inside of it is the best part of the fight. That arm scene was absolutely disgusting and showed how dangerous his absorption really is

The time travel explanation is a bit of a headache, but watching Cell reveal his origins while he thought he already won was a great move by Piccolo

I really think this bug form is much scarier than the androids, because he acts like a real predator. Piccolo letting his arm get shriveled up, just to get information, was a massive gamble and finding out Cell killed Trunks in another life is so dark. The fact that he has everyone's DNA makes him feel totally unbeatable right now

Imperfect Cell looks way more intimidating than a normal humanoid villain because of those insect features. Watching him drain Piccolo makes it hard not to hide under the covers

The way Cell just walked through that town and left nothing but empty clothes behind is pure horror. This show feels like a monster movie all of a sudden and it is terrifying

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting roughly halfway through DBZ's 291-episode run, this episode falls squarely in the Android/Cell saga's early revelations. It follows directly from Piccolo's initial encounter with the mysterious creature in 'Borrowed Powers,' shifting from confusion to concrete answers about who — and what — this new enemy is. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into 'Piccolo's Folly,' where the consequences of this confrontation begin to spiral.
