light out here confessing his deepest secrets to a woman while being obviously still deeply gay is just such classic light. the absolute audacity. i would be completely swayed in her position too honestly but misa deserves better than this. he is still grieving his boyfriend and using everyone around him lowkeyyyy like girl we get it

giving kira a direct media handler rather than continuing to operate through secondhand channels is a logical strategic escalation. the dynamic being built between light and takada introduces a layer of calculated performance that functions quite differently from the emotional chaos the misa relationship consistently produced. interesting new territory.

light confessing directly to kiyomi that he is kira while looking completely calm about it is the most unhinged power move he has made in a while. the setup with her feels TOO PERFECT and that is exactly what worries me. everything light touches is a manipulation and i am watching very closely this time around.

New characters unlocks as the investigation moves and it's quite interesting how everyone acts! It's difficult to catch up but soon, a winner will be declared.

Backstory episode for New Kira. He gave me heavy Uchiha vibes lol.
Light's luck in this episode is almost insane, and him playing with EVERYONE in this cast is truly terrifying and brilliant at the same time.

Near is finally drawing a conclusion on the connection of Light, Takada and Mikami. But he still doesn't possess solid proof. In the meantime, Misa was invited to a private dinner by Takada, and the conversation got pretty intense. Lastly, Takada was pretty amused!

More power begins to spread and corrupt. Others slowly step into roles that put them in danger. It’s interesting to watch how these new responsibilities start to change them.

Light’s luck here is honestly insane. Everything lines up perfectly for him again. Meanwhile Mello trying to get info from Misa ends up going nowhere, which is kinda funny. It almost feels like watching L back then—listening carefully but still missing the key piece.

This episode is chilling. Teru Mikami feels like Light 2.0—disciplined, fanatic, and terrifyingly devoted to Light Yagami. His intense backstory and ritual-like killings add dark depth. Meanwhile, Light manipulates from the shadows, using Takada cleverly.

Mikami is just as scary as Light. Seeing him scream while writing names is intense. He is so organized and never misses a beat. Light finally has a perfect partner who thinks exactly like him. Just peak writing

This feature shows how the psychological chess match with Near intensifies as the network of Kira expands. investigates the horrifying background of Mikami, the X-kira. Light uses Takada as a secret messenger, which is sly but cruel.

Mikami's backstory actually goes hard. dude's entire worldview makes sense in a terrifying way lol. Light playing 4D chess with Takada while staying ice cold is peak Light behavior. pieces are falling into place fr

Changed my mind lmao, Light 2.0

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving at episode 32 of 37, 'Selection' sits deep in the endgame stretch following 'Transfer,' which introduced the complications of a new Kira and reshuffled the investigative landscape. This episode pivots toward the strategic alliances and public-facing elements of Kira's power, positioning Takada as a critical new variable. It directly sets the stage for 'Scorn,' where the tangled web between Light, Takada, and an increasingly suspicious investigation team tightens further toward the series' conclusion.
