the trap being constructed is a satisfying return to the show's core strength of methodical strategic planning. after several slower installments the renewed focus on precise cause and effect is welcome. there are still a lot of episodes left to go.

the concern i have for certain characters right now is just sitting in my chest throughout this entire episode. watching things finally start to move after the slower stretch we just went through feels genuinely good though. tense in the best way

things are FINALLY moving again and i am so relieved. i have been sitting here worried about specific characters for several episodes and this episode doesn't make that better but at least something is actually happening now. finally.

Tangled actions are slowly coming up proving how mindful all the characters are in this episode but none can really predict who will rise in the end!

Finally we are nearing the end of the yotsuba group! Now it's giving tense and smart acts on how they will catch the new kira. Very impressive teamwork we are going to see here.

The little details we remembered from the previous episodes now has its uses. Feels great to connect the dots in this episode.

A superb plot is set to catch Higuchi in the act. Meanwhile, L feels motivated now as he is sure of his analogy about the power of Kira. Matsuda is again used as a scapegoat to lure out the prey. Now it's only about time till Higuchi gets caught.

The stakes are getting higher this episode. Genuinely, the hype of how they're dealing with the new Kira is very refreshing since we have L and Light on the same team. Though I know it won't last for long, I'm just trying to enjoy the chaos before we get actual madness

It’s really satisfying seeing Higuchi slowly start to panic. The more he tries to act normal and use Kira’s power to escape, the more trapped he actually becomes. Light and L’s plan is working perfectly so far.

In this episode Misa proves she’s more than just a superfan, leading a high-stakes sting that’ll have you holding your breath. The Yotsuba tension is peaking as the trap is set. Suspenseful, clever, and crucial. L’s plan is finally in motion.

The chase is finally over, and man, seeing the whole task force corner Higuchi on the highway was so satisfying. It felt like a real action movie for a second. But that ending... the look on Light's face when he finally touches the Death Note again? Evil Light returning

The second the plan started unfolding. Everything started to come together and fall into place to finish this trap. This feeling of an approaching point of no return is slowly increasing and becoming more apparent to those who have been involved.

L's elaborate trap for Higuchi is stressful in the best way. Every piece clicks into place and you're just waiting for something to go wrong. tension doesn't let up for a second

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at episode 22 of 37, 'Guidance' sits at the critical midpoint of the Yotsuba arc, building directly on 'Performance' where Misa's infiltration identified Higuchi as the prime Kira suspect. This episode transitions from intelligence gathering into active strategy, laying the precise groundwork for 'Frenzy,' where the team's plan reaches its explosive climax. It's an essential bridge episode that converts earlier setup into focused, high-stakes action.
