The camera angles in that bedroom scene with Yamaha were so strange but they worked and kept the whole thing feeling fresh

the energy during the crank in scenes was high and the comedy actually landed well during the weirdly tense moments between the leads

I was surprised by how much the lead actor struggled to stay professional during the intimate scenes and it made the whole situation feel way more human

the girl looked so drained by the time they called it a day and it made the whole process look way more exhausting than you would think

The way the actors bickered over the script details made the set feel chaotic, but it also made the romance feel a bit more earned when they finally got the shot

the friction between the crew is definitely building up and it is going to get messy really fast after that disaster on set

that moment with the script getting ruined was actually funny and it made the cast feel like real people instead of just cardboard cutouts

the cameras finally rolling felt like a big deal and the main guy looked so stressed out for no reason

It was interesting seeing the characters actually get down to the business of filming after all that buildup from last time. The way the director was barking orders, while the leads were clearly struggling with their nerves, felt very grounded for a show like this. I found myself actually caring about whether they finish the scene or not which is surprising

The tension between the leads felt so awkward and real when they finally started filming the movie and I think it really worked for my first time watching this series

the lighting shift during the shoot made everything look way better than the first episode and it actually felt like a professional production for once

Seeing Yoshiko handle those massive professional hurdles made me respect her way more as a character

This episode went way deeper than I thought it would, especially with the whole work-life balance theme and seeing the Apollo gang move from loan shark debt straight into the stress of funding a new project felt so relatable for anyone trying to make art, while that encounter Koganei had while stripping felt like a massive turning point for their production crew especially if they actually get to work with that director

I found it quite interesting how they balanced the romance stuff with the stress of finding money for their next film and it makes the Apollo gang feel like real people to me

Yoshiko really had her back against the wall this time and seeing her push through that professional hurdle felt so much more grounded than your typical adult show

Koganei being a male stripper and just happening to run into that famous director was such a weird coincidence but it might actually save the Apollo gang from their money problems

The animation quality during the more intimate scenes was surprisingly high and the way the characters look at each other feels very intimate

I really felt for the leads during that first take because you can tell they are putting their whole souls into a very difficult job

The tension on set was actually pretty thick throughout the whole second half of the episode and it makes the eventual relationship stuff feel way more substantial than your average adult title and the way the director character handles the crew even when things are going wrong gives the whole show a surprisingly honest look at independent filmmaking

The awkwardness between the actors before the cameras started rolling was palpable and seeing them push through that was the highlight of the episode

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting in the middle of a compact three-episode run, this episode carries the full weight of the story's development — the first episode established the setup, and this one must deepen it. With only one episode remaining after this, 'Youth Burning, Crank In' likely delivers the key dramatic and romantic escalation that the finale will need to resolve. Think of it as the series' true core.
