Emerging from that submerged building, my heart sank right along with theirs when they realized the deluge was even worse outside. It's such a dramatic, unfair punch to the gut after everything they just went through, and I can only imagine the despair of facing another impossible obstacle.

The Bount arc feels so slow and you can definitely skip this if you only want the main story but the water combat is done well enough

Ichigo blowing up that oxygen tank to stop the water doll was a surprisingly smart move for him

They *finally* broke free from the hospital, and I was genuinely hoping for a moment of peace for them, but then the sky just opened up. It's like the world decided they haven't suffered enough yet, which just makes me frustrated thinking about what's next for them.

You can tell this is filler because the pacing drags but at least Rukia using Kido to try and dry out the rooms was a nice touch

I loved the banter between Ichigo and Rukia after she thanked him for the save because it felt exactly like their old dynamic from the beginning of the show, and that ending cliffhanger with the rain was actually terrifying

Renji and Rukia spamming kido to dry up the room was cool but these filler villains are kind of dragging things out

Ichigo really used his brain for once by using that lighter to evaporate the water and help everyone get Uryu out of there safely

You have to feel for Uryu being stuck in his family hospital while those dolls hunt him down and then that ending with the rain makes it way worse

It is wild that the hospital belongs to Uryu's dad and he is just stuck there as a target while everyone tries to keep him safe and I thought Ichigo blowing up the oxygen tank to clear the water was a smart play, and it worked out for someone who usually just swings a sword and seeing them walk into the rain at the end was a gut punch

I thought Ichigo using an oxygen tank and a lighter to blow up that water doll was so cool even if this is just a filler arc

The bounts having control over water in a hospital is a scary idea and Uryu being stuck there adds a lot of tension to the escape

Fighting water dolls is a weird change of pace for the group and seeing Renji try to hold them off while Uryu is basically defenseless felt really high stakes

Renji and Ichigo trying to evaporate a whole flood with a lighter was the kind of desperate and stupid move that only they would try and it actually worked for a second

Honestly, the filler characters and the mod souls are starting to get on the nerves of many fans, even if the water fights in the hospital were somewhat creative

I thought the oxygen tank plan was hilarious and very fitting for Ichigo but seeing his body just abandoned on the wet floor really annoyed me for some reason

The Bounts using formless water dolls is such a nightmare scenario and watching the hospital flood while everyone struggled to find a way out was genuinely stressful

The ending was honestly chilling, especially when they thought they were safe, but then the rain started and you realized the Bounts still have the upper hand

This Bount stuff is dragging and seeing those stuffed animals makes you want to skip ahead to the canon material because the pacing is just not doing it for anyone

It really got me when Ichigo and Renji tried to use that oxygen tank and a lighter to evaporate the flood because even though it was a totally harebrained scheme it showed how they are starting to sync up and it was much more interesting than just watching them swing their swords at water for twenty minutes straight

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 72 of 366, this filler installment follows an episode that introduced an ominous threat targeting Uryū Ishida and escalates that danger into a direct, contained confrontation. It bridges early Bount-arc setup episodes with the more sustained conflicts to come, giving the ensemble cast a showcase before the stakes intensify. Skipping it won't leave any gaps in the canon narrative.
