Those long school and arcade scenes seriously threw me off, I wasn't expecting such a tonal whiplash from Bleach. It made me genuinely struggle to care about the assassin trying to get the princess later; where was the usual desperation? I just couldn't shake the feeling that the tension wasn't there like it usually is for our heroes, and it left me wondering what the show was even doing.
