The wormholes didn't help Sawatari at all because Mayuri is just way too smart for him and that poison ended it fast

That baby headed caterpillar bankai is the most disgusting thing in the whole show and it fits Mayuri perfectly

The sheer horror of Mayuri's golden baby abomination spitting poison everywhere really got to me; I mean, what kind of twisted genius thinks up something like that and then weaponizes it? It just solidifies my impression that he's completely unhinged, always pushing boundaries with no regard for anything but his own experiments.

I couldn't believe Mayuri just laughed at his arm getting crushed and then fixed it right away with that serum

I was actually bored with this filler arc until this episode, because Mayuri is such a freak. That bankai reveal with the giant baby head is something I will never forget, and seeing him grow a new arm out of nowhere was wild. It is rare to see a captain go this hard in a filler fight, and the poison was brutal.

Sawatari getting paralyzed and then offered up for research experiments was genuinely cold and showed how crazy Mayuri is

This is definitely the best episode of the bount arc because Mayuri is actually entertaining to watch on his own

The sheer disrespect Mayuri shows his enemies makes his fights so entertaining to watch and Sawatari thought he was a threat until that giant baby head appeared and turned him into dust

I really appreciate that this filler arc finally gave Mayuri some space to be a total weirdo and show off how terrifying Konjiki Ashisogijizo actually is in a real fight and most characters use swords or power but he just uses straight up biological warfare and chemical poison to win and it was so intense watching him mock Sawatari while the poison gas slowly did its work

It is wild that Mayuri can just modify his own Bankai whenever he wants and keep it from breaking and he really is the most dangerous captain because he has zero morals

Most of this arc has been kind of slow, but Mayuri kept things interesting with his weird science talk and that gross Bankai reveal

Mayuri is so ruthless for using a giant poison baby to win a fight and it was way more intense than when he fought Uryu and Sawatari did not stand a chance

I got chills when Mayuri analyzed the doll Baura and just shut down every single trick Sawatari tried to use and that Bankai is straight out of a horror movie

Nothing in this show is creepier than that giant caterpillar with a baby head and it perfectly fits Mayuri being a total freak and analyzing every single move his opponent makes

It is super unsettling to see Mayuri toy with people like they are lab rats, but watching Sawatari get disintegrated by that poison gas was such a satisfying way to end the fight

That giant gold baby head appearing on screen made this specific part of the filler arc actually interesting and the poison gas just melted Sawatari into nothing

I honestly felt sick when Mayuri released that giant gold baby and let it spray poison everywhere and it is so creepy how he just treats Sawatari like a bug under a microscope
lauriam_453's avatar

Sawatari thought he was so clever with Baura but Mayuri just walked in and treated the whole thing like a minor annoyance before letting his giant monster baby finish the job
bakugo_blast_122's avatar

The purple poison gas filling the air while that giant monster baby just stared was so disturbing and it is clear Mayuri is just a total psycho who is too much

I know people say skip the Bount arc because it is filler, but seeing Mayuri drop his bankai for the first time was worth the wait. Konjiki Ashisogijizo is the stuff of nightmares and that baby face is going to haunt me tonight. Watching him just dismantle Sawatari without even moving much was scary and the poison gas was nasty

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep within the anime-original Bount invasion arc, Episode 101 follows Episode 100's focus on Suì-Fēng's dangerous encounter, rotating the spotlight to another captain as the Soul Reapers scatter to confront the Bount threat across multiple fronts. This episode bridges toward Episode 102's pivotal Uryū Ishida confrontation, maintaining the arc's pattern of sequential one-on-one battles that escalate the stakes between the Soul Society and the Bounts.
