Seeing that flashback of Julius finding Yami on the shore really put things into perspective for me, especially because Yami actually saluted him at the end of the episode, and it is cool that Julius saw potential in him despite Yami being an outsider with scary magic since now they are heading to a beach soon

It would've been better if they dwelled more on Yami's backstory and flashback as a foreigner in Clover Kingdom. His story is wildly similar to Asta's, and the parallels really enrichen their dynamic further.

The pacing felt all over the place in episode 39, the topic shifts from gathering the truth and furthering the plot to an impromptu mission to some underwater temple. The change in direction to magical stones/tablets feels pretty sudden; but adds structure to the following eps.

A ton of additions to the plot in this episode, the twist with one of the third eye members was crazy too, I'm still a little confused on whether he was pretending to be the captain of the purple orcas? That character doesn't seem that relevant anyways.

Julius seeing Yami as a person instead of a monster really got to me because it explains why the Wizard King trusts people like Asta so much. Everyone thinks Vangeance is the real traitor though and that Gueldre was just a distraction to keep us looking away from the Golden Dawn. I am just ready for the magic knights to head to the temple after that meeting with Julius

Gueldre getting exposed for his crimes felt like a long time coming but the way Asta just mastered ki in two seconds was a little too convenient and the animation was really struggling when the captains started clashing and it made the fight hard to follow at times and the mystery with Rhya kept everyone guessing about the true main traitor

vangeance not letting anyone see his memories was the biggest red flag and he is definitely suspicious even if they caught one traitor already
