Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a legendary anime IP. Although it ended a long time ago, it is still a masterpiece for a lot of people. After the anime finished, the manga actually continued, releasing two amazing final arcs. Since the manga has a continuation, hardcore fans like me really hope that Reborn! will get a new anime, one that features modern animation techniques and finally presents the incredible arcs we've been waiting to see animated.

A new anime project for the 20th anniversary

The Reborn! anime officially ended on September 25, 2010, concluding with its 203rd episode. While that seems like a lot in the current era, it was actually quite standard back then. Back then, many long-running anime easily crossed 150 episodes, like Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's so Reborn! was only slightly longer compared to its peers. It truly is an amazing series, and although we still don't have all the details about the new anime project yet, it is definitely something we need to talk about.

What is Katekyo Hitman Reborn!:

While I assume everyone reading this post already knows about this amazing title, I will still give Katekyo Hitman Reborn! a proper introduction before we dive in. Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a masterpiece written by Akira Amano, who is also well-known for the character designs in Psycho-Pass.

As I mentioned earlier, after the anime ended, the manga continued with two amazing final arcs: the Inheritance Ceremony Arc (Chapters 283–346) and the Curse of the Rainbow Arc (Chapters 347–409). Although these two arcs are relatively short, they are incredibly interesting, and they gave the series a truly satisfying ending.

For anime-only watchers, this might feel like spoiler territory, but since we don't completely know the scope of the new project yet, you still have a chance to just enjoy the anime without diving into the manga. Beyond my personal thoughts, if we look at platforms like AnimeOshi and MyAnimeList, Reborn! maintains a high score of around 8 out of 10. With a rating that solid, it is easily a must-watch for everyone.

Does Katekyo Hitman Reborn! have filler episodes? This is a very simple question, and the answer is yes. It has fillers just like almost any other long-running anime from that era.

Should we skip the fillers? Although Reborn! has filler episodes, skipping them is not something I would recommend. Unlike most anime, Reborn! handled its filler by creating dedicated anime-original arcs. While creating original arcs isn't unique, Bleach did it all the time — the way Reborn! handled them is completely different.
