VerifiedI genuinely didn't expect what happened at the last part. This series felt like a lighthearted one in terms of death and tragedy; and the characters kept hinting at him surviving. If he magically revives the next episode It'll come off as really cheap though.

Peak action and could have been a peak episode, but there were too many flashbacks and references to things that never happened in the series. So it feels like we missed like 7 episodes or so. This feels like the beginning of the last arc of a series, but no set up was done

Coming off Episode 4's combat-focused escalation, this fifth episode marks the season's first true emotional turning point, the moment the conflict stops feeling manageable. The Demon Emperor's direct intervention shifts the power dynamic in a way that can't be undone, forcing the group into a position of vulnerability that Episode 6, "Restart," will have to reckon with. At the midpoint of a 12-episode season, "Sadness" functions as the hinge the back half pivots on.
