Suddenly deep, three emotionally rich segments exploring Nico's power and friendships. Heartwarming throughout, even comedic in parts. Also dives into Morihito and Nico's relationship, revealing Morihito's hidden perspective toward Nico. A truly amazing episode overall!

A 3 segment episode, and it's not comedy? What show are we even watching? Three back to back feel good segments. It's not a bad change of pace at all. Apparently the author was an assistant for the author of Ginatama. That makes a lot of sense as the style is very similar.

Pretty bold take from the narrator as Moi and Nico help their friend to recognise her parental issues. This provides an undercurrent of deep emotions. I personally like how deep subjects are expressed to limelight animation. The plot also encourages the believe of individualism.

The surprisingly emotional opening act is proof that this show can play the drama completely straight when it wants to. Then, the midpoint mood lightens up with a textbook parody that’s hilariously relatable to any language student. This ep finishes off with a wholesome vibe.

The "hook" that proves Witch Watch has a serious story to tell. It’s the payoff for all the foreshadowing in the early episodes and establishes a clear direction for the season's overarching plot.

Really cute and fun episode that makes fun of japanese school books and shows a diff side of morihito

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at roughly the one-third mark of the 25-episode season, Episode 9 pivots away from the previous episode's focus on Kanshi's part-time job misadventures and returns the spotlight to Nico and Morihito's core relationship while expanding the supporting cast. It functions as a character-deepening breather before the season transitions into the more comedically heightened 'Trope-tacular Student Council' arc. This makes it an important connective episode — grounding the ensemble's emotional foundations before the show shifts gears into broader, trope-driven comedy.
