A visit to the witches' city opens the door to a much bigger world. Every location has so much personality. There's always something interesting happening in the background.

I read the first volume of this series and the second half of the episode was all new to me. I want to give credit to the dubbed voice acting in this series. I do not think it get enough credit. Everything was on point the tension, acting, animation all makes this an easy 5 star rating.

In this episode, the world building shows some development. It shows how wide the wizard world actually is. Then, Coco is being reckless in this episode. But at least, the students get to know each other and deepen their friendship.

No me gusta que los personajes culpen a otros de sus errores....nadie les mandó a seguirle. No se merece ese trato. Ese gusanito es todo lo que esta bien !

To be fair, while I don't like the way Agott confronted Coco and I believe she went a little too far here, she had every right to react that way. In this episode, Coco did nothing but become a burden. I was also dissatisfied with how reckless she was. But with that said, I also feel pity for her.

In this episode, the focus shifts from the training exams to the wider world of wizards where magic is not just a skill, but part of an organized society with rules and power.

I love getting to see more of the world outside the atelier! The city vibes were great, but it gets intense quick.

For the first time in the story, we get to follow the day-to-day life of the Witch World. Without grand challenges or feats, just how magic happens daily. The fluid narrative and the details of "a small part of the city that belongs only to witches and wizards due to the secrets surrounding magic," the work tools, the existing market—each of these details builds a sense of closeness to this universe, and we are drawn in. And it is in the midst of this calm that the first storm arrives, and we truly get to know the threat that the Brimmed Caps represent. Four little girls facing something that is a challenge even for an adult. An ending that leaves you eager for the next episode.

This episode has slower pace at the start, but it was really a good set up for another arc. This episode really a good one with they tryna to tell us about how the ink was made. Also the mask witch really like a spy to Coco ughh...

The episode starts at a slower pace, letting the series' stunning worldbuilding and artwork shine. Learning how magic ink is made deepened my appreciation for its unique magic system. I'm looking forward to seeing the girls learn to cooperate.

Learning more about the magic system!

I wonder what makes Coco so important, that the mysterious magician keep her in check and send her to such test?

it seems a bit over kill to send "your last hope" to confront a dragon like that.

Agott still a insufferable asshole.

The magic city of Kalhn looks absolutely breathtaking! The art team went completely insane with the sprawling architecture and the vibrant, bustling streets. Seeing Coco explore the magical shops felt so wholesome and relatable, like a kid in a candy store. That sudden, ominous encounter right at the end completely flipped the cozy vibe on its head and set up an amazing mystery.

A fight scene occurred in this episode. It had mixed feelings, action, intense and sad moments because of the rejection moment. The graphics were so nice. Watch if you wanted progress and internal conflict, skip if you did not want dragging moments

I’m actually thinking of savoring this anime until it completes because WHY IS IT ACTUALLY SO GOOD😭😭 Loving the little bits of world building they gave us in this episode, and the plot is definitely thickening, especially the friction between the apprentices. And plus, the little furry ferret pet Coco has is ADORABLE😭🫶🏻

Who doesn't love a good shopping episode? This episode does well in furthering the worldbuilding by showcasing Kalhn and the nuances of how magic is only as good as the tools that are used. This episode was very informative about the lore of the world and the negative impact the Brimhats have had on it. The last few minutes were filled with high intensity, leading up to an epic follow-up episode.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the structured test environment of Episode 3, this episode marks the apprentices' first genuine exposure to the wider magical world — and its real risks. It bridges classroom learning and uncharted territory, functioning as the season's first major tonal escalation. The threats introduced here appear to be the foundation for the challenges arriving in 'The Dragon's Labyrinth,' making this a crucial setup episode at the quarter-mark of the season.
