Synopsis
Nursing a crush on the school idol, Moegi, the kind of unreachable, practically mythological girl every awkward teenager fixates on, is where high school guy Suguru finds himself. Then one day he gets a love letter, supposedly from her, with a very specific condition: he has to keep his eyes covered during every encounter. He agrees, because of course he does. What follows is exactly the kind of situation where you already suspect something is off, but you understand completely why the guy goes along with it anyway. The twist is that Hinagiku Kuroko, a classmate with her own agenda, is the one actually behind the letter, and she is not acting alone. This 2-episode OVA from Blue bread, adapted from the manga, leans hard into the deception angle. The mistaken identity setup creates a specific kind of dramatic tension where you are watching someone willingly stay blind, literally and figuratively, to avoid disrupting a fantasy. If you have seen something like Shoujo Sect: Innocent Lovers and appreciated stories that hinge on desire and complicated motivations rather than straightforward romance, this sits in similar territory. It is a short watch, so the character dynamics move quickly, do not expect slow-burn development. The appeal is mostly in the premise itself: a scheme built around one person's longing and another's calculated manipulation, and what happens when those two things collide inside a relationship built on zero honesty.
