The siege grinding to a halt tests everyone's patience and Askeladd's grip on his men. Thorkell pursuing the army with hostages in tow escalates things fast. The stillness before the next explosion is well managed.

A little transition into some introspection. Nature of revenge and stories of a promised land. Good little balance between serious stuff, action and drama played out on the battlefield. Gets very interesting towards the end. Good watch.

Askeladd is such an interesting character, you never know where he stands whether in the war or his relationship with Thorfinn. You can say the man is a pure opportunist. Thorfinn's daydreaming was heavy as he know what's the right thing but he just can't turn back.

This episode delivers mix of action, strategy and character tension. With steady pacing that keeps the viewers engaged while building anticipation for larger conflicts ahead. Askeladd unpredictability adds complexity to the story.

Pacing got mid tempo. Different peak of their lives were discussed on that golden one-on-one talk between Thorfinn and Askeladd. A little glimpse of what may be Vinland was unfolded. The only major impact was created by Thorkell, looks like Zeke of AoT, with that powerful throws.

Deliberate and unsparing, the episode treats momentum as leverage. Plans unfold through restraint and timing, not spectacle, while quiet exchanges expose competing loyalties. Tactical choices tighten the screws, turning each step forward into a measured risk with lasting cost.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Arriving after the explosive 'Battle of London Bridge' in Episode 9, 'Ragnarok' functions as a critical pivot point near the season's midway mark, transitioning from large-scale combat into the political and personal chess games that will define the back half. Askeladd's choices here begin steering the narrative toward the power struggles and escalating stakes of the coming episodes. This is the calm that recalibrates the board before the season's second act tightens its grip.
