The Prince of Tennis II vs Genius10

Ryoma really risked that, huh... Big bro was on him, too, lol. Anyway... why did we suddenly get a date all of a sudden here XD? That was so random, but it was definitely a good change of pace. It was a much-needed change because what came after it was a tad too heavy then. Given how things are going after that play, I wonder how Ryoga would go with his path. I'm excited to see more of the brothers. Crazy episode, I'd say.. But this definitely sets the stage for the next season. Ryoma will definitely be back, and man, finally, we got to see Coach again!!

I thought I'd be bored given how the first few minutes didn't really live up to the tension and pace built from the previous eps. I even thought seeing the Echizen siblings' backstory would be the saving grace of this episode. But holy peak, I was wrong. The play between Tokugawa and Byodoin was the absolute highlight of this episode. It now also makes sense to me why Tokugawa was on the OVA's cover with Ryoma. Tokugawa's resolve as well as his 'sacrifice' was definitely not lost in this ep. Byodoin, on the other hand, is such a jerk even though I kinda understand the logic to his actions. It was thrilling; I was surprised the episode was ending before I even noticed it, lol.

Crazy show of sportsmanship for this ep. They're not the pair I vouch for the most, but I was so thrilled at how they gave it their all even in the face of such a pair that dominates them in all aspects (for now). Jin crying wasn't on my bingo list, though-- what the heck T_T I don't have much to say except for the fact that Sanada and Jin will definitely come back stronger after this match. Will definitely be rooting for Jin as well.

The episode does a good job of building anticipation for the battles ahead, making it clear that defeating the First String will require more than talent alone. It's a solid continuation that balances action, strategy, and suspense, leaving viewers eager for the next match.

If the previous ep showed us the side of tennis' surface for bad plays, this ep gave us the complete opposite of it. It's by far one of the purest plays I've seen in most sports anime. Kin-chan was enjoying it way too much, and all that happiness from playing was being shared with others as well, especially Oni! Clean play, pure skills, and absolute love for the sport. Definitely deserves one heck of a five-star rating. Bonus is probably seeing the Echizen siblings on the go with their ikemen faces, lol.

This ep lowkey gives us one of the dirtiest plays in tennis, lol. I get that they're pretty much 'skills' or whatever, but dang, they really didn't hold back with targeting the bodies, huh. And as if that wasn't enough, psychological dirty play was also in place. Pretty crazy writing here. Although it was pretty different from the first five eps. I actually hated the play itself, but I wouldn't really say I hated the episode. It was such an interesting premise to come by, especially for doubles of this calibre.

The reveal of the First String players immediately establishes them as powerful opponents, creating excitement for the upcoming battles.

At least the dynamic and turning points were getting more relatable, like how pressure could actually affect people without them even realizing it. And it sure is one heck of a bother to try to get rid of. It's a little sad to watch Niou, though, as the game dragged on. But it just shows, too, how some players in real life would stake even the future of their careers for something they truly desire. It's admirable, but it's also bittersweet.

Would you look at that! The U-17 Japan Representatives finally showed up just as the 'losers' found their footing. The court's getting lively indeed! Eh, Number 1 seems pretty arrogant, though. But I guess that's because they got the crazy skill to back it up. Aaaaa I missed Echizen's screen time, damn. Also, mystery man finally revealed. Holy peak, yay!

The games are getting even more entertaining. Although some of them seem to stray from common sense a little, it's too cool to look away from. And given how the stakes are getting even heavier, the fights are also getting even more heated. That aside, it's actually good to see more of their dynamics with each other as well as their 'motivations' in playing and improving.

Crazy use of statistics in real time, lol, what the heck XD It was a pretty interesting premise though, and is still somewhat realistic. However, as a human, it may be next to impossible. That aside, I guess they never really let go of the funny court nicknames, lmao. It still makes me laugh, as much as I cringe over them. Only a few nicknames make sense and sound cool. But seriously... this one dude hits the ball like how Yor from Spy x Family hits it, though less powerful- yeah, but still crazy. Wtf, man????

Right off the first episode, we're hit once again by these talented ikemen players, lol. This sure aged pretty well. I'm not into tennis, but I find their games and moves really cool to watch and follow. I guess the mini subplots here and there make it even more interesting. Echizen really grew a lot compared to the first and second seasons. I missed watching this series. Everyone was still just as silly, too. This episode is pretty chill. Well, the first few minutes were important because of the announcement, and only a little in the later part was there any thrill. Other than those, it was just everyone being silly boys XD

The first half of this episode was easily my favorite part of the episode because of everything that happened during Kazuya's match. The soundtrack also helped make many of the moments feel even more impactful. The second half also had some sweet and emotional moments that gave this episode a satisfying ending

Ryoma and Ryoga's scenes were easily the highlight of this episode for me. Their flashback was my favorite part of the episode just because it was both heartwarming and emotional to watch. I also enjoyed the second half of this episode since it focused on Kazuya's tennis match, it was really interesting to see him overcome each challenge he faced.

I really enjoyed watching most of the scenes from this episode because it gave Genichirou and Ji more screen time. Their interactions throughout the match were one of the highlights for me. I liked watching them work together since most of their interactions in this episode were kind of interesting and emotional to watch.

Most of Kintarou's scenes were really entertaining to watch because of his determination and passion to become Japan's best tennis player made him become such an inspiring character to watch. The soundtrack really helped make his moments feel even more impactful. I also enjoyed Juujirou's flashback, it was such a heartfelt and wholesome moment that gave more depth to his character. The second half of this episode was easily my favorite because of the unexpected revelations that kept dropping during this episode's tennis match.

This episode was somewhat interesting to watch because of Bunta, but it did feel a little different from the usual tennis matches from previous episodes. It was interesting to see what Bunta would do to overcome the situation that happened during his match.

I really enjoyed the tennis match in this episode. Most of Keigo's scenes were the highlight for me because of what he had to go through against his opponents. I also enjoy how this episode gives Masaharu more spotlight because I've always found his ability to replicate players really fascinating, especially if he manages to improve it.

The revelation at the beginning of the episode made the rest of the scenes really interesting to watch because it finally reached to the point where the Genius 10 are introduced. I really liked most of Ryoma's scenes because of what happens around him.

This episode was much more enjoyable to watch because most of the tennis matches between each of the characters were much more intense and interesting. Watching some of the main character's struggle against their opponents kept me invested from the beginning to the end because most of the matches from episode two ended very quickly.
