Feels like an anime make for its fans, not to make new fans.,
The dialogue don't connect with each other, there's explanations onto things that aren't important and then there's no explanation for thing's that are important. You're just thrown into that world and the show expects you to understand who is who and what is what.

I don't think we're at the era where directing like that works anymore.

Come primo episodio mi ha colpito molto l'animazione, sarà la nostalgia per nippon, ma devo dire che per ora è un buon inizio.

PS lunga via ai King Gnu :)

If you're expecting constant shootouts, this premiere might feel slow. But if you enjoy political intrigue and worldbuilding, it's a really rewarding first episode.

The worldbuilding is dense, but it's fascinating. The history of cyberbrains and AI makes the setting feel believable instead of just futuristic.

Science SARU absolutely nailed the vibe. It feels fresh while still respecting what makes Ghost in the Shell so iconic.

An amazing episode 1, the animation is incredible and the actions are fluent. The best

The Major smashing through that high rise window with her thermoptic camo was the coolest thing I have seen in a long time and she just deleted that corrupt official instantly

Motoko picking off those Super Spartan bots from the ridge was a great moment, because she was just landing every single shot while the rest of the team was struggling in the jungle

Those little blue Fuchikoma tanks chatting while they blew up the orphanage guard bots gave the whole battle such a strange and entertaining energy

Motoko shattering that high rise window and vanishing mid air was a total standout and she feels way more playful here than in the older movies

That orphanage supervisor dragging the kid back to the brainwashing pod was genuinely stomach turning and it makes you want to see Section 9 take them down even faster

I could barely keep up with those subtitles during the opening data stream and my eyes were hurting from trying to read so fast while taking in those vibrant colors Science SARU used for the net

that opening mission with the major jumping through the glass was wild and the way that guy just turned into digital noise and blood looked so cool

The animation style is a big shift from the old movies, but the hand-drawn look really works for this version of the Major. She feels much more like her sassy manga self when she is teasing Batou

Watching those kids get their brains scrubbed in the orphanage pods was actually terrifying. The desaturated colors and that robotic supervisor made the whole facility feel like a total nightmare

That opening text crawl went by way too fast and left viewers spinning. You really have to pay attention to the dialogue between Aramaki and the Major or the entire political conspiracy gets lost

I did not expect the Major to crash through that window and turn that guy into digital glitching gore. Science SARU animated that sequence with such vibrant colors and fluid motion that it looked incredible

The Fuchikomas are the best part of the team and their high voices while they were shredding those guard bots made me laugh. I missed these little blue tanks so much

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series opener, this episode carries the full weight of first impressions — there is nothing before it, and everything that follows depends on the foundation laid here. It introduces Section 9, Major Kusanagi, and the cyberpunk social landscape that will frame every subsequent case and conflict. Expect later episodes to build directly on the thematic and operational groundwork established here as the team confronts increasingly complex threats.
