I love the dinamic between the characters introducted in the first episode. With Maka and Soul being one legendary duo of the manga, the animation studio and the director studio knew how to treat these characters. Lovely.

This episode serves well as a foundation and introduction to the concept of the series, while not holding back on the action either and instead jumping into it right away, of course we meet our main characters early on and are shown just how strong they can be.

While this pilot offers a peek into the rich inner worlds of Maka and Soul and their quest for a witch's soul, it is ineffective overall. The world-building is creative, but the execution feels disjointed, failing to capitalize on the pair's quirky, dynamic alignment.

I loved when they introduced Maka and soul cause it was good, though there is fan service in that episode so I probably wouldn’t watch it in front of anyone that doesn’t understand.
