First and foremost, I had to remind myself and everyone that's going to watch this anime, that this was made in 2004. And that made it more of a gem, with the animation and how it already combined 2D and 3D modelling, which must've been mindblowing for its time. But then again, this was made by the legendary Gonzo studio, who made Hellsing and Last Exile, so it's not a surprise. With the OST matching the town/city type too, with Wada Kaoru (Inuyasha, Gegege No Kitaro) as the composer. On the plot side, it's really interesting as we started with a typical hero searching journey, but in a steam punk world smashed with rural Japan. The world seemed fun with technology and mystical power standing together. And the character seemed interesting even with the little introduction we got from them. A really, REALLY great first episode in my book.

Its a great ep, it explains a lot a about what's about to come for the next few episode. It explains the situation and the reason as to why and what these characters are fighting for. I love the glimpse of action its very exciting for the nest few ep. the animation, music, story, dialogue, graphics and tension are amazing. This is not my typical genre, but I cannot wait for more.

You think any other character is badass? Wait until you see a samurai fighting giants Mecha- samurai, and slicing a whole ship with his sword, lol i wasn´t expecting any of this when i read the tittle, but it seems promising, i hope it stays that way.
I dont like that much the use of 3D in anime so that´s why i gave 4 stars on Visual section

EPISODE CONTEXT

This action-packed introductory episode masterfully blends a steampunk world with samurai fighting giant mecha, setting an exciting stage that demands a watch.
