The detail on the character designs was impressive, because they managed to make Reginetta look exactly like the doujin illustrations

The voice acting during the trap scene in the dungeon made the whole thing feel way more immersive than the first episode

That scene where Reginetta lost her sword and had to find another way out of the pit was such a classic adventure game moment

The art style staying so close to the source game was a huge win for me especially during the part with the slime

Monster encounters can be hit or miss but I thought the animation in this fight made the game feel so real

If you played the original game, you'll probably notice they skipped a few of the smaller encounters to reach the boss faster this time.

The sound effects during the more intense parts were a bit much and they kind of drowned out the music in the background

Seeing Reginetta struggle against the tentacles in that overgrown garden area was the only highlight of an otherwise pretty average episode

It felt like the pacing dragged a bit in the middle of the episode for me and I just wanted them to get back to the actual action

You can tell they spent most of the animation budget on the final scene of the episode and the rest of the movement felt a bit stiff

That monster design was super weird and uncomfortable to look at but it definitely fits the tone of this kind of adaptation

I think the art in this part looks way better than the first episode and Reginetta's voice actress is doing a lot of heavy lifting for the vibe

The way she just walked into that trap made no sense but the animation when the monsters caught her was actually pretty smooth for a low budget production

My favorite part was seeing the costume damage details because it really captures that specific doujin game feel from the source material

The game mechanics are still really obvious in the way the scenes are structured, like you can almost see where the player would have clicked a choice to get this specific outcome. I liked the dungeon atmosphere more this time around because the lighting felt darker and more claustrophobic during the parts where Reginetta was trying to find her way out.

watching her try to stay composed while everything was going wrong in that library part was the best bit for sure

I wasn't sure if they could capture the specific art style of the doujin game since it's so distinct, but they actually nailed Reginetta's expressions during the tavern scene. The lighting was a bit dark at points but the way the encounter built up felt right and I think the ending of this episode lived up to the source material.

you can tell they spent the whole budget on the close up shots during the last ten minutes and it really shows in how smooth the hair moves
