Subaru's hesitation to see Emilia was devastatingly realistic. After everything that had happened between them, the sloth guy strikes again. I'm most interested in seeing what he chooses to do to finally defeat him!

The very concept of Betelgeuse's "Fingers" is terrifying! He feels so impossibly invincible and immortal in that sense. The ending was crazy! Just when the show was giving us a victorious sequence, this comes up..

One aspect that I find really endearing about this series is the jarring realism they feature even in moments of triumph. Having Felis make a mistake leading to such mass destruction feels scarily real. There really is a "cause-and-consequence" sequence and logic instilled in the series which makes wins feel well-earned.

subaru finally using his brain. evacuating the village with diplomacy instead of rage? growth. using mabeasts to eat the finger? smart. the voice acting when he turns into betelgeuse? chilling. but bro PICKED THAT UP after being warned and now he's possessed. subaru's stupidity finally caught up and i'm stressed.

Who would have thought that Betelgeuse would posses Subaru. A huge cliffhanger for me because I am clueless on where he will come back to life at that point! Still 10/10 episode for me!

This episode is chaotic. Subaru faces Petelgeuse again. The battle feels messy and dangerous. There are smart moves and close calls. It keeps you on edge the whole time.

UP: Petelgeuse's backstory adds layers. The ending with Subaru's death and Emilia's reaction is HEARTWRENCHING. "Stay Alive" insert song is perfect. DOWN: The pacing feels rushed. Some viewers found it an improvement from last week but still meh in spots. 😈

Episodes are getting more and more wild and I’m stressed, but that reset felt necessary. One last loop to fix it all. Let's go.
