The villain in this episode did NOT hold back in the slightest. The pacing was perfect and introducing him at this point in the story effectively set things in motion again, forcing Natsuki to wake up from his depressed state. It was horrible, but it got him going again I guess

As much as everything in this episode was pivotal, it was just as hard a watch. A new obstacle faces him, much more ominous than the last. The ending as well, everything was unexpected but still hit because of the world's established unpredictable nature.

I knew the earlier sequence with Rem was too wholesome to be true.. it was painful but necessary watching both her and Subaru's struggle.. her unrelenting nature while attempting to save him, both in battle and dialogue, was valiant and true to her character.

Imagine seeing everyone dead and the only thing you can do is die and reset everything. Also love how Rem is now dedicated for Subaru! Wish I was Subaru. One thing that annoys me is the part when Subaru looked lost all hope. Rem went all through that. Subaru baka!

This episode is very emotional. Subaru completely breaks down. The forest scenes are disturbing. You really feel how hopeless things are. The final moment is unforgettable. Easily one of the strongest episodes.

UP: The whale chase sequences are TERRIFYING in the best way. Animation keeps you on edge. DOWN: Subaru's PTSD episode is painful to watch. Seeing him completely shut down while Rem carries him is rough but necessary character work.🐋

It really sets a standard on what Isekai Genre could become, it doesn't have to be generic and had an OP MC to be entertaining. This episode for me personally, could deliver a wonderful story telling by using a realistic human reaction towards gruesome event. 5/5
