rewatching this as an adult made me realize how stupid i was for hating this as a child. it's only the first ep and i'm alr so hooked and intrigued. don't get me started on the art direction, chef's kiss.

Peco talks a big game but gets HUMBLED. Smile holding back against him for years? Kong sees right through it. the way he dismantles Peco while talking about being exiled to the "eastern end of the Earth" is cold. this art style is weird but the movement is fluid 😤

From the first episode, already all the characters made me fall in love with the story. It's compact, cutting the fat of the story and to the meat of it as we are served with Smile's habit when playing with Peco, and Peco's ego. The rotoscoped animation is also really unique!

I really like the animation choice here. It’s super unique and kinda rough compared to most anime, kind of like straight out of manga sketch. But, it feels expressive even though it's kind of weird at first but you'll get used to it
