Synopsis
Burdened by her father's sins, alchemist Silvia is trying to atone for the terrible thing he did to a border city already drowning in corruption, using the very alchemy that got her family in trouble in the first place. The catch is that her power runs on spiritual energy drawn from the people around her, which means the more she helps the city, the more she's potentially exploiting the residents she's bonding with. That ethical tightrope is really the core of this OVA. Based on a game and animated by Studio Majin, this 2026 release leans into its hentai genre, but the alchemy system underneath is surprisingly detailed. Silvia's not just mixing potions, but she's navigating relationships with townspeople who each have their own baggage, and every interaction feeds back into the central question of whether what she's doing is actually redemption or just a different kind of harm. The community dynamics give it a warmth that contrasts with the tension of her internal conflict. If you liked the moral gray areas in 91 Days or the way Gunslinger Girl made you uncomfortable about the cost of someone's mission, this hits a similar nerve, just through a very different lens. If Jormungand's blend of likable characters doing questionable things appealed to you, Silvia's story operates in that same space where good intentions get messy fast.
