very very solid and cute episode. I love mitsuishi's mickey mouse impression. The transformations are also pretty gnarly at some times, which I really like

I totally love the visuals in this episode. The expressions, reactions, and how vibrant everything looks definitely make the episode a lot more immersive. That said, the story is just as great. The blend of anxiety, depression, and hopefulness is handled so well.

Definitely leaned more into the romance than the monster antics, and it paid off. The date had some genuinely cute moments, even if the misunderstandings dragged a bit. Still, seeing Kuroe slowly open up made this one of the better episodes so far.

Kuroe fighting for her life every time Arata gets a little too close will never stop being funny. 😭 This was basically a rom-com mixed with a kaiju disaster movie, and honestly? That's why this series is so charming.

Surprisingly sweet! Watching Kuroe spend an entire date trying NOT to become a kaiju is such a ridiculous premise, but the show somehow makes it work. The amusement park setting was adorable, and Arata continues to be an absolute green flag.

I want to say that the "mom" is actually quite irresponsible. Akaishi could have hurt or worse killed people when she transforms into kaiju, and the mom just follows her around but we haven't really seen how she can control Akaishi's kaiju form. Also feels so weird that Minami just believed it was cosplay? when she just transformed right in front of him. I thought he was just making an excuse so that the public wouldn't think that its a real monster. But the way they interacted after that was weird, like they didnt really confront the issue. But maybe they'll touch more on that in the next episode, so can't be sure for now.

Good episode. Hope it won't repeat the same trope. Glad we see abit of awareness from the MC instead of being dense. The end credit shows promise on the story progressing!

My heart broke seeing the little drawing of them together in her guidebook. She spent so much time planning everything just to stay human and then he goes and loves the monster side anyway

The way her mom tried to get her to wear that green dragon mascot suit for the date was messy. Reiko is clearly living her own kaiju dreams through her daughter and it makes the home scenes chaotic

The log flume scene was so stressful and watching Kuroe panic as her tail started ripping through her dress was intense. That guy really has no idea what he is dealing with yet

Those fireworks at the end looked beautiful and seeing her finally relax next to him was the best. She really deserved a win after almost leveling the entire castle in a fit of rage

I was losing it when the mom showed up in that rabbit mascot suit to tackle her own daughter. Reiko is way too much but her looking out for Kuroe on her first date was actually kind of sweet

I really felt for Kuroe when she walked out of that bathroom ready for him to hate her, only for him to start gushing about her amazing costume. It was so awkward but it was also nice that he didn't notice what was actually happening. That mysterious guy at the end talking to her mom has me really curious about their past

Minami is actually the densest guy ever for thinking those were just high quality scales and a fake tail. It worked out in the end and seeing Kuroe have to take pictures with random kids was hilarious

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the one-quarter mark of the season, Episode 3 arrives after the series has introduced its core cast and established the central romantic and supernatural premise. This is typically where a romance series shifts from setup into complication — relationships begin to develop real texture, and the kaiju secret becomes harder to contain. What unfolds here likely sets the tone for the emotional conflicts that will carry through the mid-season stretch.
