This final episode brought things back to the main idea of the series about how the past and present don’t always match. It followed Omasa as she dealt with someone from her past and how things had changed over time. A lot of it focused on old feelings and how people and situations don’t stay the same, even when you want them to. It tied into the bigger themes the show had been building on since the start, especially how the past stays with people in different ways. The episode also had some strong soundtrack and a few nice action moments that helped lift it. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked as a final chapter. It had a bittersweet tone rather than a happy ending, which fit the show. A fitting end to the series.

This finale is a perfect end to a perfect show.My favorite part was at the end with Heizou comforting Omasa in the rain. The timing of the ending song with its lines about crying and the symbolic first tear being followed by rain pouring down on both was the best. I enjoyed watching .

EPISODE CONTEXT

As episode 13 of 13, 'Kitsunebi' serves as the definitive conclusion to the season, following the boundary-testing events of 'The Audacious Fellow' which challenged both personal and professional loyalties. This finale draws together the season's overarching threads — Hasegawa's relentless pursuit of justice and the recurring tension between duty and humanity — into a singular, culminating case. It functions as both a narrative capstone and a thematic summation of everything the series explored across its run.
