The way Luffy dodged that bullet showed his observation haki is getting way better and the animation for the punch sending that guy flying was very smooth

Tonoyasu giving out that rice made me smile and learning Toko is his kid is a great reveal because they both have such a bright energy and the town really respects him

I was surprised to see Caribou again, but his pledge to Luffy actually feels like a smart move for someone like him

Luffy failing to get the Ryou right at first shows me how hard the training is even for him and the prison scenes have some great flow

The scenes in Ebisu Town were so wholesome and Tonoyasu giving everything away to the kids and old people makes him such a likable guy

That twist about Tonoyasu being the one who steals from the rich was a great reveal and he really is the heart of that town

Caribou showing up again is so weird and his interaction with Luffy felt out of nowhere but it was funny to see him begging for help

Watching the poverty in Ebisu Town makes me want to see Orochi get what he deserves even more and Tonoyasu is a total legend for helping them

Luffy showing off all three types of haki in one episode was cool and the animation for the ryou training keeps getting better and better

It was cool to see the episode stick so close to the manga chapters, and the flow of information about the rebellion plans felt really natural here. The reveal about Yasuie being the Witching Hour Boy makes his interactions with the poor people in Ebisu Town feel more meaningful. Plus Luffy using every type of Haki during his training looked great

I actually can’t believe that Caribou is begging to join the alliance now because he was such a creep back in Fishman Island, but seeing him interact with Luffy in prison is weirdly entertaining. It’s cool seeing more of Ebisu Town too and Tonoyasu is clearly hiding something important about the old days since he recognized the Kozuki name so fast

Luffy dodging that bullet with observation haki looked so clean and his training with Hyo is actually getting somewhere now

It was really sweet how Yasu treats everyone in Ebisu Town even though they have nothing and seeing Toko work so hard was sad

Hearing Hyo mention Roger and the Kozuki history makes the world feel so much bigger and more connected than before

I felt the history from 20 years ago hit hard and it makes the whole situation in Wano feel much heavier

Seeing Shinobu get so nervous because Tonoyasu knows who she is makes the whole rebellion feel like it’s finally starting to come together, especially with the Haki training moving along

I really liked seeing Yasuie in Ebisu Town and learning that he is actually the Witching Hour Boy made so much sense for his character

My heart was full seeing how Tonoyasu treats everyone in Ebisu Town and he is basically the soul of that place even if he is broke

Tonoyasu seems way too nice for this place and seeing the reveal that Toko is his daughter makes the mystery around him better

Big Mom just wants her soup and it is so weird seeing her act like this but I hope she gets to the prison quickly to cause some real chaos

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 936's focus on Luffy's Sumo Inferno training and Zoro's encounter with a mysterious woman, Episode 937 pivots to Ebisu Town to flesh out the civilian side of Wano — a deliberate narrative choice that deepens the audience's emotional investment in the country the Straw Hats are fighting to liberate. This character establishment for Tonoyasu is far from incidental, as the Wano arc consistently rewards patience with its setup episodes. The groundwork laid here directly feeds into significant upcoming developments that will carry major emotional weight.
