I usually skip the filler episodes but the Hancock stuff was actually pretty funny and seeing her and Luffy together again is great even if the soda guy was total trash. It was basically just a big commercial for the new movie which I guess worked because now I want to see the Pirate Fest but man the animation was rough in some spots

I dont care if this is just a movie ad because seeing Hancock on screen again made my whole day

Luffy literally just punched out the soda guy in one hit and now we can finally get back to the actual story in Wano

These villains with the soda guns feel like something out of a bad kids show and it is really bringing down the mood after how cool the start of Wano looked

Luffy just flexing on Cidre with his strength shows how far he came after Big Mom and it was satisfying to watch

I honestly don't mind these little movie tie-in arcs, because they usually give us some fun character moments we wouldn't see in the main plot. Seeing Hancock teaming up with Luffy was easily the best part of the episode for me. Cidre was a total joke with his soda powers, but that mention of Douglas Bullet really set the stage for the movie

Luffy taking out a whole squad with just his presence was great and it shows how much stronger he is than these random filler bounty hunters using fizzy water as a weapon

Cidre is kind of a joke and his carbonation powers are so weird but the movie tie in stuff with Douglas Bullet actually made that movie connection work well

I thought the animation was decent for a filler, but those weird zooms during the fight scenes were a bit much. Hancock taking out the guards was great because that Cidre guy was just annoying

The weird zooms and the shaky animation really made this episode feel like a massive step down from the usual quality and it is obvious they saved the budget for the movie instead

Getting to see Boa Hancock again was the only good part of this filler and she looks so great even if the animation felt a bit off in some of the background shots

Using pressurized soda to fight a rubber man is a bold choice and it obviously did not work out well for Cidre but the character designs for the guild were at least unique

It is hilarious how Hancock treats everyone like trash except for Luffy and her helping him out against those carbonation guys was the only reason to watch this episode

This really felt like a massive ad for the Stampede movie, but having Hancock back for a bit made it worth the time. Her dynamic with Luffy is still the funniest thing and watching them take out the Cidre Guild together was entertaining, even with the goofy soda powers. It actually worked to get everyone excited for the film festival.

Hancock looks great in this style and she always makes these random side stories better even if the carbonation guys are kind of a waste of time and space

It is just filler but you can tell the animation budget was saved for Stampede and it really shows in some of the shots

Luffy calling the soda king weak was the most honest moment in the episode and it felt like a total waste of time watching him fight someone so clearly beneath his level

That ending with the Elephant Gun felt so lopsided and Cidre never stood a chance against Luffy but at least the episode is over and the filler is finally finished

Seeing Hancock back with the sisters made my day and her chemistry with Luffy is always funny even in a filler episode that does not really matter for the main story

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the second of two filler episodes (following Episode 895) that form a self-contained side story bridging into the One Piece: Stampede movie, inserted during the early stretch of the Wano Country arc. No main plot threads advance here — the Cidre Guild conflict wraps up within this episode. Episode 897 returns to the primary Wano narrative, so viewers can safely skip this detour without losing any continuity.
