A stunning arc opener with movie-level visuals and a perfect feudal Japan vibe. Wano instantly feels different from every other island. Zoro’s undercover intro turning into a brutal magistrate takedown makes this one feel stylish, tense, and insanely hype.

the new art style is so different and wano looks amazing with the cherry blossoms falling everywhere and it feels like a movie now

Ugh, I'm so bummed about this new opening. It just threw out so many spoilers for anime-only folks like me, and honestly, it kinda dampens the excitement of discovering those big moments naturally in the actual episode. I really hate when they do that!

The aesthetic of this new land is honestly breathtaking and the shift in the art style feels like a fresh start for the series. Zoro getting into trouble with that seppuku blade was so funny because the animation made it look so clean and the new opening song really sets the mood for the samurai theme

The animation jump from Whole Cake to this is actually staggering, and it feels like a totally different show now. Zoro taking out that corrupt magistrate with just a tiny seppuku blade was easily the best thing, though the new opening visuals kind of ruined a few future surprises. Wano just feels so much more alive and vibrant than any of the previous islands

The new outfits for Usopp and Robin look great, but the spoilers in the opening song really annoyed me because they showed way too much

I honestly think the new look for this arc is super vibrant and the colors are actually insane during the seppuku scene

I still cannot get over how different the art looks now and seeing Zoro just punch that guy instead of using his blade was cool

Hearing that new music with the cherry blossoms makes the whole country feel so different from anywhere else the crew visited

The new art style is so clean and the colors in Wano look striking and Zoro using that tiny seppuku blade to slice the building was intense

Wano looks incredible and you can tell they put so much work into the background art for this transition

Zoro slashing through those guards with a tiny ritual knife was so impressive and the animation during that sequence was so smooth

Zoro handled that seppuku situation with so much composure and that little knife worked better than most people's swords

The seppuku scene genuinely shocked me with how visually striking it was; those vibrant colors during the slash really made my jaw drop. I think this new direction totally elevates the Wano setting, making it feel so much more authentically samurai than I expected.

The colors in Wano are actually gorgeous and it feels like a movie because the lines are so much cleaner than the last arc

Zoro really tried to follow the rules for five minutes and then he goes and cuts a building with a tiny knife

I was actually cheering when Zoro did that slash with the seppuku blade and the pacing felt way faster than usual

Usopp and Franky looking so completely at home in Wano, just blending in like they'd been there forever, absolutely delighted me, even if it totally highlighted how much I've missed the other Straw Hats. I can't wait for the day all nine of them are together again, I bet they're gonna cause some serious Wano-sized trouble!

I honestly can't get over how gorgeous the animation looks, now that the crew is finally in Wano. The transition to these thick lines and vibrant colors is such a huge upgrade, especially since Zoro handled that seppuku situation with so much cool confidence and that flying slash with the small blade was a total power move to see

Wano looks so different from every other island and the traditional Japanese look is perfect and the animation quality for this arc is a massive step up from before

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode launches the Wano Country arc, one of the longest and most consequential stretches in One Piece, directly following the political intrigue of the Reverie arc. It establishes the crew's covert infiltration strategy and introduces the feudal Japanese-inspired setting that will serve as the battlefield for major conflicts ahead. Everything here — the disguises, the cultural immersion, the careful groundwork — is foundation for the alliances and confrontations that define this arc.
