Katakuri admitting he feels stressed is such a change for a villain, but then he just goes and kills his own chefs for seeing his face

Watching Katakuri turn the whole floor into mochi is terrifying and Luffy is really taking a beating this time around

I cannot believe how much Katakuri loves those donuts and it was so weird seeing him lose his cool like that after he got caught eating in his little shrine

All that mochi flowing all over the place looked incredible and it makes you wonder if Luffy will ever be able to turn the world into rubber

Katakuri admitting that Luffy is actually stressing him out makes him feel like such a different kind of villain than what we usually get

Woah, Katakuri opening up like that during a fight totally caught me off guard, I mean who expected that from him? It made me respect him so much more, especially when I think about how Doflamingo would just manipulate everyone without a shred of genuine emotion. This dude actually has principles!

I still cant believe Katakuri just turned the whole floor into mochi and that animation was so smooth during the environmental transformation

Luffy is really proving his battle genius by surviving this long against an awakened fruit user when the surroundings are literally trying to eat him

I felt that beating Luffy took in my own soul, but his instincts for dodging while being completely overwhelmed are actually getting so much better

I was really wondering why Luffy hasn't just gone into Gear Fourth yet but it looks like he is trying to wait for the perfect opening or something. Seeing Katakuri get so mad about his snack time being delayed was hilarious, and kind of scary at the same time because he just started throwing awakened mochi around like a complete lunatic

I was not expecting Niji to pull off that voice trick and it was so satisfying seeing them outsmart the Big Mom pirates for once

Bege actually managed to escape with his crew and it was great seeing the Fire Tank Pirates get away while the siblings were busy wrecking the big mom pirates

Niji using his voice disguise to mess with the Big Mom pirates was such a slick move and it gives the Vinsmokes some much needed time to regroup

Luffy getting buried in that massive pile of mochi looked brutal and it is crazy how Katakuri just wants to end it quickly so he can eat

Bege is still the king of escapes and watching him weave through Custard was great even with the Katakuri fight taking up most of the focus

Katakuri getting annoyed and burying Luffy under that massive pile of flowing mochi was a lot to take in and the visuals for that awakening looked really smooth

Those awakened powers are totally overpowered and Katakuri using his logic to stop Luffy from escaping into the mirrors showed why he is such a threat

I keep thinking about Katakuri's face when he realized Luffy was actually draining his stamina and it makes me think Luffy might actually have a chance

Katakuri literally buried Luffy in a mountain of mochi just because he missed his snack time and the dude is actually terrifying when he is hungry like that

Katakuri getting annoyed because he cannot hit Luffy is such a great detail and it makes him feel way more human than the other big threats we have seen

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 855 sits deep within the Whole Cake Island saga's climactic stretch, continuing the pivotal Mirror World duel that has been building since Luffy deliberately separated himself to face Katakuri one-on-one. The previous episode saw Luffy struggling against Katakuri's mochi abilities and near-suffocation, and this installment escalates the stakes further by pushing Katakuri into a more aggressive, unrestrained state. This fight sequence serves as a critical proving ground for Luffy's growth, setting up the breakthroughs and dramatic shifts that will define the arc's resolution in subsequent episodes.
