Violet standing her ground against Doflamingo really got to me because she knew she was outmatched, and she still tried her best to do something. I think adding those extra fight scenes made the situation feel even more desperate than the manga version was. It was such a powerful scene when the entire town finally managed to halt those strings together

The tension is high as the birdcage shrinks, but the countdown for Luffy to get back up feels like it has been going on for ages

Waiting for Luffy to recover is taking forever but Fujitora helping the civilians push those strings was a big moment for my favorite admiral

The sight of Marines and gladiators uniting to stall for time really showed how much is at stake for Dressrosa right now

I felt so much tension seeing everyone push against the birdcage together and the silence when it finally stopped was heavy

I seriously thought for a moment that Doflamingo was just messing with everyone when the birdcage suddenly went quiet. The sheer silence after all the chaos was so chilling, it made my stomach drop with a weird mix of relief and pure dread for what would happen next.

Adding that extra fight between Violet and Doflamingo was a smart move for the anime because it made her desperation feel way more real

I actually felt scared when the Birdcage started speeding up and then everyone just started pushing it together and it actually stopped for a second

I have been waiting for Luffy to get back on his feet for what feels like forever, but seeing the whole island come together to push that cage was actually really moving. Viola trying to take on Doflamingo by herself was so brave, and you can tell how much she wants to fix things for her family and her kingdom

The filler fighting with Viola actually gave her some good screen time even if she never stood a chance against Doflamingo and his strings

Everything is on the line now and watching Zoro use his Haki to try and slow down those wires looked incredibly difficult

It was cool seeing the Marines drop their pride to help the pirates push back the cage, since it shows how much of a nightmare Doflamingo really is

Whew, I was on the edge of my seat watching everyone strain against that birdcage, wondering if they'd ever make it. It really threw me for a loop to see some of the marines actually stepping up to help the common folk, I almost cheered for them.

Everyone pushing back against the Birdcage together was so good and seeing Zoro and the Marines actually working side by side really shows how desperate things are getting in Dressrosa right now

I was holding my breath waiting for Luffy to wake up because Law looks like he has a plan but the timer is running out way too fast

Those strings cutting through buildings sounds so unsettling and it really makes the countdown feel much more urgent

Viola standing up to Doflamingo like that gave me chills and the anime really made her look so determined during their fight

Law just sitting there, completely focused on protecting Luffy as that countdown relentlessly ticked down, had my stomach doing flips. I couldn't help but marvel at his dedication in such a high-stakes moment, even while I was biting my nails over the birdcage closing in.

The sight of the nameless marines and Admiral Fujitora putting their Haki into pushing back those strings was a cool moment but the cage still feels like it is barely moving

Viola really tried to take on Doflamingo with just a tiny knife because she was so desperate to save Rebecca and that felt so hopeless because of the massive power difference

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 731 sits in the final stretch of the Dressrosa arc, directly following Episode 730's focus on Mansherry's miraculous contributions and channeling that momentum into a full-scale resistance effort against the Birdcage. It serves as the penultimate buildup before Episode 732's climactic showdown, ensuring every piece is in place for the arc's decisive moments. This is the tension before the payoff — a critical bridge episode that earns its weight through sheer stakes and spectacle.
