Lao G calling Baby 5 a convenient tool was so cruel but it made the kick from Sai feel way better when he sent that old man flying into the ground

My heart actually broke seeing Baby 5 as a kid being left behind in the mountains and then Sai came along and told her he needed her and it made me so happy

Baby 5 actually getting thrilled about Sai "needing" her to die for him really threw me for a loop; her warped idea of being useful is just heartbreaking, and honestly, a little disturbing to watch.

You can really tell the budget went up for Sai versus Lao G because those impact frames and the fluid motion were so good compared to the usual Dressrosa stuff

Don Chinjao getting in the way of the wedding only to get taken out by his own grandson felt like a classic way to end that family drama

Sai really took over as the new leader by standing up to his grandfather and that final kick against Lao G looked incredible

My eyes were watering seeing little Baby 5 abandoned in the mountains just because she was useless and I am so happy Sai is actually treating her like a person now

I honestly wasnt expecting to get hit with such a sad backstory for Baby 5 right in the middle of a fight and seeing her mom tell her she was a burden made me so upset and Sai turning it around and deciding to marry her while kicking Lao G across the map was such a great way to handle the situation

Lao G is a total weirdo with his joint pain gags but him powering up into that massive form actually made him seem like a real threat for a second there

Sai literally kicked the soul out of Lao G and saved Baby 5 from herself in the same move so he is definitely the new leader of the Happo Navy now

I actually started crying when they showed Baby 5 as a kid being left alone in the woods because she was useless to her family and that explains her whole personality so well

I was actually impressed by how much effort went into the art for Sai's drill kick because the way the colors changed made the blow against Lao G look so much heavier
ningyo_nemesis_48's avatar

It was so dark seeing Baby 5 ready to end it all just because someone asked, so Sai stepped in at the perfect time and that marriage turn was surprisingly wholesome

Baby 5 trying to kill herself just because someone told her to was really dark and it shows how messed up the Doflamingo family is

I was not ready for Sai to actually step up and marry Baby 5 after that chaos and it makes me happy she has a real home now

Baby 5 being left in the woods as a kid explains why she is so desperate to be useful and it actually made her character make sense for once instead of just being a gag

The transition from the comedy of the accidental engagement to the absolute heartbreak of Baby 5 being abandoned as a child was handled surprisingly well, especially for this arc.

Seeing the old man Chinjao get his drill head folded by his own grandson while they were arguing about Baby 5 was pure comedy and Sai is a legend for that move

Sai breaking the ground with his drill kick while fighting Lao G was such a cool visual and the way the animation stepped up made the whole fight feel much more important than the previous ones in Dressrosa and seeing Baby 5 finally find a man who won't just use her for his own gain was a really nice touch for her character

That drill kick from Sai that literally opened up the earth was easily the best thing in this episode and it was nice to see the animation look that good for once

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the high-tension clash between Law and Doflamingo, episode 710 deliberately pulls back to the surrounding battles across Dressrosa, fleshing out the supporting cast caught up in the larger conflict. This character-focused detour deepens the sense of scale in the Dressrosa arc by showing how the war reshapes individual allegiances and identities. It sets groundwork for the arc's later payoffs by investing in relationships that will matter as the battlefield converges.
