Law seeing his sister left behind in the burning hospital made that whole White City disaster feel way more personal and messed up

I really felt for Law when he was hiding under those bodies because the World Government literally erased his entire life for some lead profits

The way the World Government treated those sick people in Flevance like they were monsters was actually disgusting and it explains why Law wants to destroy everything now

Law hiding under a pile of corpses just to survive the White City massacre really got to me. It is crazy how the World Government just murdered everyone to cover up their own greed for that lead money. Corazon throwing Law out of a window was kind of funny but I am mostly just thinking about how Law lost everyone he ever loved.

My heart actually broke when Law saw his parents get killed and I cannot believe the world government really covered up a whole plague just for money

I was so shocked by the hint that Law has the D in his name because that really explains why he saved Luffy at Marineford

I honestly didn't think any backstory could top Robin's for being the most depressing, but seeing Law hide under a pile of corpses just to escape his own burning home was a whole different level of dark. It makes so much sense why he's so cold and calculated now, after seeing his parents and little sister get murdered like that.

I still feel sick after seeing those soldiers shoot the people trying to escape Flevance and it makes so much sense why Law turned out the way he did after losing everyone like that

Watching Law lose his sister and his parents in one night was just too much and the neighbors shooting everyone because they were scared of a non-contagious disease is pure evil

Robin had it bad with Ohara but seeing the actual faces of the people Law lost makes this flashback feel so much more personal and painful

the history of the city was really interesting, but the animation was kind of rough and the episode felt like it was moving way too slow

I just felt sick seeing little Law claw his way out of that grim pile of bodies, completely shattered. It made me truly grasp the sheer depth of his pain and why he'd ever want to scorch the entire world, wiping it all away.

Law stabbing Corazon was intense, but I was mostly just thinking about how much he lost in Flevance before that even happened

how on earth did law keep his sanity after losing his whole family and his entire country in one night

Corazon throwing Law into the garbage was such a shock but then everything gets so depressing immediately after when we see his parents die

I was genuinely horrified watching Flevance, once such a pristine white city, decay into a graveyard because of the World Government's absolute disregard for human life. It’s hard to imagine how anyone could justify such a devastating decision driven by pure avarice; it just leaves me with this hollow feeling about the state of their world.

Law hiding under those bodies to survive was so dark and it really shows how much the world government sucks for letting an entire city rot for some lead profit

doflamingo using lead bullets on law later is so much more messed up now that we know about the white lead poisoning and how it killed his whole town

corazon falling over for no reason is actually pretty funny even though the rest of the episode is basically a nightmare and he somehow survives getting stabbed
arsyur's avatar

that quarantine the government put on a dying city before shooting everyone was just pure evil and law definitely has the darkest past of anyone yet

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep within the Dressrosa arc, Episode 701 follows the introduction of the Op-Op Fruit's significance and pivots into extended flashback territory to contextualize Law's alliance with the Straw Hats and his vendetta against Doflamingo. This marks the beginning of one of Dressrosa's most emotionally resonant stretches, with subsequent episodes continuing to unravel Law and Corazon's shared history. Everything revealed here directly fuels the stakes of the present-day conflict on Dressrosa.
