Zoro finally managed to find his way to Franky and the toy soldier, which is a miracle considering his sense of direction is usually nonexistent

It felt like the intro took forever today and the pacing was definitely on the slower side, but my favorite part was easily when Luffy fixed Chinjao's head and that whole grudge with Garp ending because of a well-placed punch is exactly the kind of thing that makes me love this series, and now I just want more lore about the Tontatta plan

Robin's face while watching the Tontatta freak out over their new hero was pure gold and she clearly loves how ridiculous this situation is

Zoro getting totally sidetracked by a tiny fairy had me cracking up; I mean, how does he *always* manage to find a new way to get lost? It just reminds me of all the other times he's wandered off, you'd think he'd learn by now!

Seeing the Tontatta tribe ride those giant hornets into battle looks so cool and their design is actually pretty unique for this arc

Jesus Burgess watching the fight and getting all hyped up is definitely a sign that things are about to get much worse in the coliseum

Luffy punching Chinjao's head back to its original shape was funny and seeing that long grudge evaporate over a drill head was such a weird twist

Usopp accidentally becoming a god to a bunch of forest midgets is the most on brand thing to happen in this show

Law being stuck on the ground while Doflamingo just toys with him is actually terrifying because the power gap looks massive

The Tontatta military base is actually kind of terrifying, especially since they have those giant beetles to ride into battle

It was actually kind of touching to see Chinjao get his drill back because his entire world view changed in an instant

Whew, that intro and recap seriously just kept going and going, didn't it? I was practically yelling at my screen, just wanting to get to the Tontatta stuff already! My anticipation for those little guys was through the roof!

Watching Law get absolutely destroyed by Doflamingo was brutal and you can really feel how much trouble he is in right now

I could barely look at the screen when Law was cornered and Doflamingo looks like a total monster compared to everyone else

My heart sank when Law got caught because he looks like he has no way out of this mess on Green Bit

The Tontattas are so cute but their gullibility is going to get Usopp into so much trouble later, and the pacing really suffered from that huge recap at the start

This felt like a lot of setup and the recap was long but the underground world of the Tontatta looks great and has such a cozy atmosphere

Usopp lies his way into being a hero every single time and it never gets old seeing people actually buy his nonsense

I am really worried about Law and how Doflamingo is just playing with him while the rest of the crew is distracted, but the anime needs to pick up the speed because these chapters are being stretched so thin. The Tontatta are cute and the beetle mounts are a great addition but the actual story progression feels like it is moving at a snail's pace.

Don Chinjao going from a huge threat to just a happy old man because his head is back to normal is the funniest thing that has happened this arc

EPISODE CONTEXT

Falling deep within the Dressrosa saga, Episode 648 serves as a critical transition point — the alliances have been formed, the political landscape has been mapped, and now the pieces are moving toward direct confrontation. Previous episodes established the Straw Hats' fragmented approach across the island and introduced the Tontatta dwarves as key allies; this episode crystallizes those threads into concrete battle preparations. It sets the stage for the large-scale conflicts and revelations that define Dressrosa's back half.
