I loved hearing Usopp talk about Luffy like that because it shows how much he actually respects his captain and the speech felt so earned after everything they went through in the lab

Luffy sending Caesar flying like a shooting star was great and the way he just ignored all those fake job offers was hilarious

The grizzly magnum looked cool but the anime made it look like Caesar could actually push back against it for a second and that really messed with the power scaling

I actually cheered when Luffy used Grizzly Magnum because seeing Caesar so terrified of that hit was exactly what the guy deserved

I was so glad when Luffy finally landed that Grizzly Magnum even if the animation looked a bit shaky for most of the fight today

Crying about Doflamingo and Joker while Luffy just stands there ready to punch him into next week was such a funny contrast and it shows how much Luffy doesn't care about his threats

I was honestly starting to get a bit annoyed with Caesar but seeing him get absolutely wrecked by the Grizzly Magnum was worth it and seeing him crumble in fear right before the hit landed felt great, plus Law finally finishing off Vergo by leaving him in shambles was a perfect way to wrap up these island fights for good

The justice for the kids felt real when Caesar finally got his soul knocked out because of all those horrible experiments on this island

It really annoyed me how the anime made Luffy struggle against Caesar’s chest for so long and he should have just blown him away like in the manga

The animation was a bit hit or miss, but the way Luffy ignored Caesar’s pathetic deals and just smashed him with Haki was great

Luffy's Grizzly Magnum was absolutely insane, I mean, Caesar looked like a ragdoll flying through the air after that hit! I'm still wondering if that was just a crazy powerful punch or if my man Luffy dipped into his Conqueror's Haki without even realizing it.

Usopp talking about what makes a real captain while Luffy sends that snake flying proves why the Straw Hats are so much better than Caesar

I think Luffy telling Caesar he never wants to see his face again felt way more brutal than the actual punch because it showed how much he hates people who use others

I honestly liked the ending, but that fight with Caesar felt so weirdly paced to me. In the manga he just gets destroyed, but the anime makes Luffy huff and puff like it was a struggle, and then he just floats in the air for way too long. Law leaving Vergo in pieces really stuck with me more than the final hit.

My jaw dropped when Luffy unleashed that Grizzly Magnum, it was seriously massive! But then, I just couldn't help but notice how oddly he floated in mid-air for a sec right after, and it just looked so clunky that it kinda took me out of the awesome impact of the attack itself.

Law handled Vergo so well and seeing the guy who thought he was untouchable get diced into a hundred tiny pieces was really satisfying to watch

Law is really out here shaking up the entire world and seeing Doflamingo lose his mind over Vergo and Caesar losing shows how much their plan actually worked

Law left Vergo in literal pieces which was cold, but honestly Caesar getting his face caved in by that Grizzly Magnum was the real highlight for anyone watching

That scene with Usopp telling those guys they should have more faith in Luffy was actually really cool and it showed how much the crew believes in him even when things look bad

I honestly expected Caesar to be a bigger threat after he ate all that purple gas and turned into a monster but he just became a bigger target for Luffy and he tried to bargain at the end which was so desperate and sad and watching him get launched into the sky by the Grizzly Magnum was the perfect way to finish Caesar

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 617 lands at the climax of the Punk Hazard arc, directly following the fallout from the White Chase and Vergo confrontation in Episode 616. This episode functions as the arc's decisive turning point, resolving the central antagonist conflict that has been building throughout Punk Hazard. With Episode 618 titled 'Raid! An Assassin From Dressrosa!', this installment clearly serves as the bridge between Punk Hazard's conclusion and the Dressrosa saga that looms ahead.
