My jaw dropped when Vergo just went full evil on his own G-5 guys who totally looked up to him; that was such a gut punch. But then Sanji swooping in to save Tashigi made me cheer! I just wish his Skywalk and that finishing kick looked as awesome as I remember from the manga, because the animation felt a bit off and sluggish.

That moment Luffy finally latched onto Caesar had me screaming at my screen, I swear. My stomach clenched a bit with that final punch, but seeing him put that gas menace down for good after everything he put those kids through? So incredibly satisfying.

The brutal way Vergo used Finger Pistol on his own men really shows how little he cares about the Marines compared to his boss

Vergo is such a monster for what he did to those G-5 guys, but honestly his loyalty to Doflamingo makes him a much more interesting villain than just another corrupt marine

The way Sanji saved Tashigi was cool but the actual animation for his kick felt a bit flat to me and it did not have the power I expected

Vergo using the marines as human shields and killing them without blinking is such a dark turn for a guy who seemed so polite at first

Chopper desperately trying to save those poor kids from the drugs is so stressful and it makes the wait for him to finish the sedative feel like forever

It was so satisfying for me to see Luffy slam that punch into Caesar and I have been waiting so long to see that smug gas man get hit

Smoker and Luffy basically acting like partners in this mess is great and their dynamic is easily one of the best things about this whole situation

I seriously can't stand Vergo after seeing him treat the G-5 marines like that and his fake story about a sick sister makes him the absolute worst kind of liar

I was getting so impatient with how sluggish that fiery run animation looked for Luffy, totally messing with his urgency to get to Caesar. But seriously, the payoff of that final punch made me grin from ear to ear, totally worth the weird visual slowdown in the end.

When Vergo just casually used Shigan on those G-5 guys, I was absolutely floored; it really cemented for me that he never truly gave a damn about any of them, which is just so messed up.

I almost screamed when Sanji dropped in and kicked Vergo across the room and seeing him stand up for Tashigi was everything I needed today

Sanji's fiery kick on Vergo was such a massive relief for me; it's always awesome seeing him unleash that power. Even though I felt the frames for the impact were kinda clunky, that moment still had me cheering him on after all they'd been through.

I honestly love the weird bond between Luffy and Smoker because they have such a natural back and forth now and it feels like they actually respect each other even though they are supposed to be enemies on opposite sides of the law but the animation for Luffy running through the halls was definitely looking a bit rough today

Sanji showing up right when Tashigi needed him was everything but the animation during his big kick felt so slow compared to how fast he usually moves

Vergo dropping the act to show how brutal he really is makes him such a terrifying villain for this arc

I really felt bad for those G-5 guys who thought Vergo was a hero but seeing him beat them down was so brutal. Even with the weird pacing and the animation looking a bit rough during the chase scenes, that final punch Luffy threw at Caesar made the whole wait worth it. I am ready to see Caesar finally get what he deserves.

The manga made Sanji saving Tashigi feel so much more impactful and the anime just drags everything out until it loses all tension

The flashback of Vergo acting like a good guy just makes his current betrayal of the Marines feel so much more deranged

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the Punk Hazard arc, Episode 606 follows the emotional beats of Episode 605 — where Tashigi's vulnerability and G-5's desperation were front and center — and escalates into direct confrontation with the arc's hidden power player, Vergo. This episode serves as a critical bridge, exposing the depth of corruption within the Marines while building momentum toward Episode 607's anticipated Luffy versus Caesar showdown. It's a pivotal turning point where the alliance's enemies fully reveal themselves.
