Good episode, chopper human transformation and Zoro just being Zoro in the end is just art

Chopper finally getting a handle on his monster point form was truly awesome; I cheered so loud! It just fills me with pride to see him not be scared of himself anymore, especially after everything he's been through trying to control that strength.

I think Hody having no reason to hate people other than being taught to is terrifying and it makes him way scarier than Arlong who actually suffered

When Luffy actually took on all the fishmen's hopes, I just sat there thinking about how much responsibility he's always been willing to shoulder for others, but this felt different. It was like his training really solidified his belief that he *can* protect everyone he cares about, and that's why I felt so much hope right alongside them.

The way Luffy started that fire attack at the very end has me so excited to see him win

Cutting the episode right as Luffy was about to finally hit Hody was so frustrating after sitting through all those minutes of flashbacks and recaps at the start

Sitting through that massive recap and then diving right into a flashback felt like such a drag, especially since the action was finally getting good

Seeing Chopper actually control his monster form was huge. He used to be so scared of that power and now he just owns it for the crew

Watching ten minutes of recap and then an entire flashback for Hody felt like a chore and it really killed the momentum of the actual battle at Gyoncorde Plaza

I am still trying to wrap my head around Hody having no real reason for his hate besides just being raised by Arlong and the environment of that district

Zoro telling that guy he can't even kill his boredom is such a bold move. He really just wants a real challenge and Hyouzou is clearly not enough

Zoro was acting so cool when he told that swordsman he was just cutting through his boredom

I got pretty emotional when Luffy told Fukaboshi they were friends and the way the Prince started crying actually got to me because he looked so relieved

Too many flashbacks made the pacing feel slow but that scene where Franky fought the ink clones was fun

Hody Jones saying that humans did nothing to him is scary because it means his hate has no reason

This villain is a nightmare because he represents pure hate that was taught to him rather than actual pain

I have mixed feelings about how much time we spent in Hody Jones’s head this week, but seeing how Arlong’s voice sounded so monstrous in those memories really helped explain why he turned out this way. It made the moment when Luffy told Fukaboshi they were friends feel even more necessary after seeing all that poison and hatred from the past

I honestly think Hody saying that humans never did anything to him is one of the darkest things this show has done so far, and it makes his whole movement feel so much more dangerous than Arlong because there is no reason to it. It really hit me when Fukaboshi realized the island was just trapped in an endless loop of hate

When Fukaboshi just started sobbing like that, I actually gasped a little—it wasn't just about the tears, but how deeply Luffy’s simple declaration of friendship clearly meant to him. It really showed me the massive weight Luffy carries, not just as a pirate but as a symbol of hope for these people.

Fukaboshi begging Luffy to reset the island history back to zero was such a heavy moment for the prince

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the revelation of Hody Jones's true nature, this episode serves as the emotional and thematic foundation for the Fish-Man Island arc's climax. It contextualizes everything driving the conflict—prejudice, inherited will, and the desire to start over—giving the upcoming Luffy vs. Hody confrontation real stakes beyond just combat. The groundwork laid here elevates what follows from a straightforward battle into a statement about breaking generational cycles.
