It just irked me to no end seeing Luffy so helpless in the water, he’s usually so invincible! I can't help but wonder if Hody even *realizes* how pathetic he looks, totally dependent on those steroids just to be a threat.

Hody acting like he has some big secret past makes the fight more interesting than just a typical brawl and the Noah visuals were great

Luffy fighting while bleeding in the ocean shows how much he is willing to risk to keep his promise to Shirahoshi

The animation during the fight in the water looked pretty smooth but the dialogue felt a bit cheesy and slow

You keep waiting for the other Straw Hats to do something while Luffy struggles with Hody and the giant ship keeps getting closer

Having a villain who just eats candy to get strong makes the fight feel low stakes, and the pacing is dragging his backstory out way too much

My heart absolutely sank when that gargantuan ship started its freefall towards Fish-Man Island; I just knew in that moment Shirahoshi was the only one who could possibly stop it, and I was so anxious waiting to see if she'd actually use her power.

I was actually worried for Luffy when he got hit because being underwater makes everything harder and Hody is just relentless with his hatred. That ship falling is the scariest part though and I keep wondering if they will have to destroy it to save everyone, even if it has some huge history behind it that we don't know

Hody's reliance on those pills was seriously grinding my gears; I was practically yelling at the screen for Zoro or Sanji to just get in there already. They're both such monsters in the water, and I felt like they could've ended this whole annoying fight way quicker than it's going now.

It is hard to feel the stakes when the villain is just a weak version of Arlong who needs drugs to even stand a chance

I felt a genuine chill when Hody bit Luffy because it showed he can actually hurt him even underwater

Hordy looks like he is losing his mind with every steroid he swallows, but the mystery about what Fukaboshi found out is the only thing that matters

those shots of noah falling through the sea were so detailed and it looked nasty in a good way even if the actual fight choreography felt a bit stiff

I was stressed watching Hody almost bite Luffy while they were swimming because he is clearly at such a massive disadvantage and the water is a nightmare for him

i am really starting to get tired of the slow pacing in this arc and i just want to see luffy finally land a massive hit and end hody once and for all

jinbe or maybe even sanji should really be the ones handling this underwater mess instead of luffy because our captain is clearly at a huge disadvantage being a hammer in the ocean

I actually got chills when Fukaboshi realized that Hody doesn't have a personal grudge, and it really hits home how dangerous that kind of blind hatred can be for a society. It makes Hody such a different kind of threat compared to past villains because you can't reason with someone who was just raised to be a monster from day one

i hate seeing luffy struggle so much in the water and it makes my skin crawl watching him bleed from that shoulder wound while hody just keeps getting faster

Luffy getting hit by those water shots and barely being able to move is frustrating to watch when we know he is so much stronger than this pathetic shark

A cold dread washed over me when the air bubble plan, which I'd been relying on as a last resort, proved utterly useless against that colossal shadow fast approaching the ship. It just cemented for me the terrifying vulnerability of the Straw Hats, and the thought that there was absolutely nothing slowing that monstrous thing down felt genuinely suffocating.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the chaotic full-scale clash between the Straw Hats and the New Fish-Man Pirates, this episode pivots from battlefield spectacle to a focused, high-stakes crisis centered on Noah's descent toward Fish-Man Island. It serves as a critical turning point in the arc, deepening Hody Jones as a villain by beginning to peel back his true motivations. The groundwork laid here directly feeds into subsequent revelations about Hody's identity and ideology, escalating the arc's thematic stakes beyond a simple power struggle.
