Luffy announcing that he will be the King of the Pirate. And under unexpected circumstance, it's like the world is agreeing with him. It's like history is repeating itself but now it's the beginning and not the end.

Alvida-sama? Wh-what happened to her!? And Luffy, get a hint... I'm crying with laughter, LOL. Kidding aside, is this what we call fate? The timing just can't be real. It's simply so perfect. Overall an epic episode—the tension, that smile, and the heaven-defying fate are unreal.

Smoker looked so shaken when he saw that smile on the platform and it was unreal how much it reminded him of the Pirate King

I felt so many things when Luffy smiled and said sorry I am dead because he really thought that was it and then the lightning hit the platform and saved him

Watching Luffy climb up there just because he wanted to see what the Pirate King saw was such a typical thing for him to do

The way Smoker just stood there in shock after that lightning bolt hit the platform was everything and he knows he found someone special

Luffy smiling at the blade is the craziest thing and he just accepted death without any fear

Buggy calling it a flashy execution and then getting blasted by a bolt of lightning was the funniest thing that could have happened to him

I was yelling at the screen when Zoro and Sanji had to fight through a whole crowd of pirates just to reach the plaza before the blade fell

Nami checking her weather instruments and knowing that storm was coming before it even hit was so smart and it really saved their lives because the Marines were everywhere in the plaza

Luffy really just sat there in the debris and laughed, showing that lightning and Buggy are nothing to a rubber man

Alvida looks totally different now and her powers are super annoying for the Marines and Buggy is still a loud mess

Dark clouds and a massive wind surge made that moment when Buggy raised his sword feel so heavy and weird

I can't get over that mysterious guy in the cloak watching from the roof while the storm was going crazy and Smoker was going on about the will of D and destiny, while the lightning literally saved Luffy from getting his head chopped off by Buggy and it felt like the world itself wanted him to stay alive, and reach the Grand Line

It was so satisfying to see Luffy stand up and laugh after that explosion because being made of rubber saved his life from a lightning strike that would have fried anyone else

Buggy is such a hater for trying to execute a kid on the same spot as Gold Roger and then he gets toasted by a literal act of god right at the finish line

The sky turning black and that storm rolling in right when Buggy was making his speech made the whole execution feel so much more intense and chaotic while the Marines watched

Loguetown has such a heavy atmosphere and I felt that tension when Luffy was trapped in those stocks. Seeing him apologize to his friends with a giant grin while Buggy held the sword up was so heavy for a show that usually feels so lighthearted. I am curious about that mysterious guy in the cloak and what Smoker meant about heaven wanting him to live since that lightning strike was crazy.

Zoro and Sanji were absolutely tearing through those guys to get to the scaffolding and you can really tell they are starting to trust their captain no matter how dumb he acts

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode serves as the dramatic climax of the Loguetown Arc, following the crew's individual preparations for the Grand Line across the previous episodes. It transforms what began as a supply stop into a defining character moment, with Buggy and Alvida's alliance bringing the East Blue saga full circle. Everything here funnels directly into the crew's departure for the Grand Line, making it a critical bridge between One Piece's opening saga and the vastly larger world ahead.
