Luffy going back to Marineford just to ring that bell is such a bold move and it feels like a heavy tribute to everyone he lost there

I feel so bad for Sanji because he just wanted a normal island with girls, but now he has to deal with Ivankov and the newkama instead.

Chopper riding that giant bird was the only wholesome part of this whole episode and he looked so happy to be safe

Watching Sanji get chased around Momoiro Island by Ivankov and all those people is the funniest thing this show has done in a long time

Rayleigh being with Luffy at the bell really shows how much he cares about the next generation of pirates

Kuma is such a mystery and it makes you wonder why a guy with revolutionary ties would let the government turn him into a robot like that

I can't believe Luffy actually went back to Marineford just to ring that bell and send a secret message to everyone
lunala_313's avatar

Wait so the message on his arm means they aren't meeting up in three days anymore, and seeing Luffy go back to the place where he lost his brother just to tell his crew to wait for two years is actually a genius move. I wonder if Zoro is going to get even stronger while Sanji is stuck on that pink nightmare island.

Luffy standing back at the plaza where Ace died made me feel so many things because he looked so determined to move forward for his friends

The fan subs for this one were way more aggressive than usual with the swearing and it made Sanjis reactions feel so much more desperate

The 3D2Y thing is such a big move and it makes you wonder what kind of training the crew is going to do for two whole years

Luffy ringing the bell sixteen times was such a bold move and it really feels like he is moving on from the grief of losing his brother and sending a signal
raihan_353's avatar

Ivankov is such a chaotic character and seeing him interact with Dragon on the phone call adds so much mystery to why Kuma let himself be turned into a total robot for the government
cobble_290's avatar

Sanji trying to keep his cool while Ivankov messes with him is funny but also kind of exhausting because the poor guy just wants to find his friends and get off that pink island

I finally feel like things are moving after seeing Luffy show up at Marineford to ring that bell. It was such a quiet and powerful way to honor Ace, while also sending a message to the rest of the crew. Seeing Dragon call Ivankov to talk about Kuma makes the world feel so much bigger and connects the revolutionaries to the mess at Marineford.

The humor with Sanji on the island feels really dated and annoying and you just want the story to get back to the actual plot instead of watching him get chased around like that

Dragon finally checking in with Ivankov was a great touch, and hearing them discuss Kuma being a total robot makes the government seem more dangerous than ever before

The Sanji stuff is kind of uncomfortable to watch because of how they treat him and it feels a bit weird even if it is meant to be a joke for the show

I felt so sad seeing Luffy pay his respects at the grave and that 3D2Y tattoo is such a smart way to communicate with everyone without the marines figuring it out right away

It felt so heavy when Luffy stood in front of the Ox Bell at Marineford and you can tell he finally has a real plan to get stronger for his crew after what happened to Ace

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 509's focus on Zoro facing a serious challenge during the crew's separation, this installment rotates the spotlight to Chopper, Robin, and especially Sanji, continuing the pattern of tracking each Straw Hat's solo journey. It deepens the sense that every crew member is being tested and transformed in their own way. These individual threads are building toward the crew's long-anticipated reunion, making each check-in essential groundwork for what comes next.
