You finally get why Brook has been hanging around because the salt weakness for zombies is a massive help for the crew and his knowledge about the shadows is actually saving everyone

The thought of Oars waking up with the personality of Luffy is going to be a complete mess and a giant that size acting like a rubber idiot is actually terrifying

I found the penguin zombie refusing to kick women hilarious because it proves Sanji is still himself even without a body and the shadow logic in this arc actually makes sense

Moria mentioning Kaido actually made me sit up because that is such a big name drop and it makes his whole zombie plan feel way more desperate than just wanting to be pirate king

I really did not expect Moria to put Luffy shadow into that massive corpse, and it makes the situation feel so much more dangerous for the crew. Just thinking about a giant with the rubber fruit abilities is stressing me out because the scale of Oars is just insane compared to the regular zombies they have been fighting up until now.

Brook finally telling his story, about losing his shadow five years ago and just floating there all by himself, honestly makes my chest ache. I can't even begin to imagine how that isolation felt, but his sheer determination to get his shadow back after all that time? That's what really gets me, it's so incredibly inspiring.

When that monster stirred awake and it instantly had Luffy's same goofy energy, I genuinely didn't know if I should be cracking up or totally freaking out for the crew. They're in such a ridiculous mess right now, and I'm honestly stumped on how they're even gonna begin to fight something so absurd.

The size of Oars is just ridiculous and you have to wonder how a guy like that could even exist or pull around entire continents like the legend says

You could really tell the pacing was dragging during the middle of the episode but the final shot of Oars looming over everyone was worth the wait at least

I was honestly surprised by how much Brook knows about the shadows, and his vibe is easily the best thing about this whole creepy island arc so far

The way Oars started moving around like Luffy immediately is such a weird detail and it makes those fan theories about his past life actually feel pretty plausible

I was yelling at the screen when Moria mentioned his past with Kaido because it explains so much about why he is obsessed with this weird zombie army idea
igos_du_ikana's avatar

Moria thinks he has this perfect plan with his zombie soldiers, but it is so weird that he just lets people go back to sea where the sun can kill them instead of keeping the shadows safe. It feels like a massive risk for someone who wants to be king and get his revenge on Kaido by using Oars as a weapon

Okay, when that massive creature snatched Luffy's shadow, I genuinely gasped, thinking "how are they even gonna deal with this?!" It just made me realize how utterly out of their depth the Straw Hats are on this island, and what kind of insane power they're up against now.

I seriously can't get over how massive Oars looked when he finally woke up and I am already stressed about how the crew is going to even touch him

Moria trying to become Pirate King with a giant corpse is such a weird plan and it shows how lazy he is since he won't even use his own strength for anything

Moria is really playing a dangerous game by keeping the Straw Hats alive just to power up his zombie army and it feels like it might blow up in his face soon

Oars acting like Luffy is honestly hilarious, but the size of that guy is a very real threat and the Straw Hats are in huge trouble

Finding out that Brook is heading back to fight Ryuma alone for his shadow makes me respect him so much more as a character

Moria mentioning he lost his whole crew to Kaido in the New World makes his obsession with an invincible zombie army make so much sense now, and it really makes you wonder just how powerful the people in the second half of the ocean are if they can break a guy like Moria this badly while he's still this strong

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode follows directly from Episode 349, where Luffy's shadow was stolen by Moria, and now pivots to show exactly what the villain intends to do with that stolen power. It serves as the critical bridge into Episode 351 and the larger confrontation with the ancient warrior Oars, establishing the stakes the Straw Hats will face. Within the Thriller Bark arc, this is the turning point where the threat escalates from creepy island mystery to full-scale crisis.
