Robin trying to handle all these amnesiac idiots by herself is so funny and sad

I felt so bad for Robin being the only one who remembers and having to watch everyone act like strangers again

I hated seeing everyone treat each other like strangers after all they have been through and the sea horse guy is just a lame villain

The sea horse with the flute is such a bizarre villain even for filler and it felt so random seeing the crew wake up without their memories

I am still trying to wrap my head around this whole memory loss thing because it feels so out of place right now. Robin is the only one who knows what is happening, and her calm reaction is a bit unsettling since the others are ready to just walk away. It is interesting to see their old personalities again, even if the animation is off

The animation looks pretty rough in this one and it is really noticeable on Robin and Sanji when they are talking on the ship

It was actually funny seeing Zoro go back to his bounty hunter roots and he was ready to slice up his own captain without a second thought

Seeing Usopp lead a bunch of kids again was a nice throwback, but the way they lost their memories to a flute player felt pretty weak

Sanji having zero memories of Nami but still acting like a total creep towards her is the most consistent thing in this entire show

Nami going back to her pirate hater phase was so weird to watch and she really just wanted to rob everyone on the boat

luffy being mostly just mad he cannot remember the cool stuff he did in Alabasta is a total joke and I can not stop laughing at him

It is such a weird choice to follow up a great arc like G-8 with a story where everyone just forgets who they are. Seeing Robin try to hold things together is interesting because she is the newest member, and the plot with the memory-stealing seahorse feels like a massive step down in quality compared to the earlier filler episodes

watching usopp go back to his village lies and acting like he was never a brave warrior of the sea is just painful after all the progress he made

I really liked the nostalgia of seeing the old scenes again, but the seahorse thing is just weird and feels like a low point for the show

the way robin has to sit there and watch her friends forget their entire journey together is actually pretty sad and makes the ship feel so empty and quiet

my heart sank when luffy woke up and did not even recognize the straw hat because that hat is basically his entire identity and his reason for being a pirate
giratina's avatar

this whole memory loss thing feels like a huge downgrade after the g8 arc and it is hard to care about a plot that feels this manufactured and random

zoro reverting to a bounty hunter and staring down his own friends like they are common criminals is such a jarring change from how he usually acts

i found it so frustrating to watch nami look at luffy with that much disgust and hatred again since she basically went back to her personality before arlong park

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode launches the non-canon Ocean's Dream Arc immediately following the conclusion of the Davy Back Fight, serving as a filler bridge before the story reaches the critical Water 7 saga. It establishes the arc's central mystery and the crew's fractured state, setting up the character-driven conflicts that will play out across the next several episodes. Canon-only viewers can skip this stretch entirely without losing any narrative continuity.
