Chopper being a mess of a doctor and scaring that poor old man into thinking his heart was about to stop was the funniest part of the whole island trip

Nami gambling away the entire crew property to an old man on a random island is exactly the kind of chaos you expect from her and it was hilarious

Having a clever old man trick the whole crew into doing his housework while he just chilled in his chair was such a funny filler concept

I can not believe Chopper told Zenny he only had three days to live when he was actually fine and it made me feel so bad for the old guy

The marines showing up right when Zenny is trying to finish his life goals added some good tension and it made the island feel less isolated

Watching Zoro use his swordsmanship skills just to chop up a tree into lumber was hilarious and weirdly impressive for a filler episode

It really touched me when the big treasure reveal happened and Zenny realized his goats were more important than the paper money they ate, because it fits the nakama theme perfectly

Zenny having a dream to be the king of the pirates even at his age is kind of inspiring, and it felt so classic One Piece when it turned out his treasure was just his goats that ate all his money and I love how the crew just went along with helping him even after Nami gambled everything they owned away

The idea that dreams do not have an expiration date even if you are just a guy living with goats on a rock is a message that fits this world so well

Seeing the mountain ship serve as a coffin was a dark turn for a bit, but then the tone shifted back to classic Straw Hat chaos when the Marines showed up.

Luffy and the others treated that old man like a king because they thought he was dying and the mountain ship looked so cool in the background

It felt a bit slow until the chess match started and my favorite part was just watching Nami lose her mind over the debt she owed Zenny

The marines tried to set a trap but the crew is too smart for them and seeing Zenny realize his goats are his real treasure was a sweet moment

I actually like this filler arc and Zenny is a fun character because his whole dream of being a pirate at his age is kind of inspiring and his goats are the best part of the episode honestly Robin winning the ship back in that chess match was a highlight because she just sat there being cool and collected while Nami was panicking and then seeing everyone try to make the old guy's last days great was just nice

Zoro getting lost on a tiny island is the most predictable thing ever, but it still leads to a good laugh every single time he ends up in the wrong place.

Zenny building a pirate ship on top of a mountain because he thought he was dying is pretty weird and even the goats seem confused by him

Nami really out there betting the whole ship on a chess game and then Robin has to bail her out because she is the only one with a brain

I thought Chopper was actually serious but then Zenny just had a cold or something and seeing them try to fulfill his pirate bucket list was so funny

Luffy had no hesitation about launching that ship straight into a marine vessel and it was so chaotic with all those goats on board and this was a fun break from the main plot and Zenny is cool

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the middle chapter of the Goat Island filler arc, building on the crew's initial encounter with Zenny in Episode 136 and deepening his character before the arc's conclusion in the following episode. It sits between the Alabasta and Jaya/Skypiea arcs, filling the gap with standalone adventures that have no bearing on the main storyline. Skipping this episode and the surrounding Goat Island episodes will not affect comprehension of the canon plot.
