A desperate race against time heightens urgency. The tension is constant.

Crocodile turning that door into sand just by touching it makes him feel like a monster and that bomb countdown is stressing me out

I cannot believe Robin can actually read those ancient stones and the look on the kings face when she was threatening him was so intense

Water Luffy is the most ridiculous power up and it was so funny to see him leaking from his arm holes while chasing Crocodile

Tashigi crying while she told Luffy where to go felt so heavy because you can tell how much it kills her to rely on a pirate for justice

It blew me away when Luffy got back up after being poisoned and stabbed and using his blood to hit a logia user is the smartest thing he has ever done

Luffy punching Crocodile because his hands were covered in his own blood was so gnarly and it shows how far he will go to win this fight

Watching Tashigi point Luffy toward the tomb while she was in tears really showed her struggle with being a marine

Robin lying to Crocodile about the Poneglyph was a huge risk and I was shocked she actually stood her ground like that

Vivi screaming for everyone to stop fighting, while the cannon is about to go off, is heartbreaking since nobody can even hear her over the war

Knowing Robin is the only one who can read those ancient stones changes everything and her refusal to help find the weapon was a huge moment

The way Crocodile just drains the moisture out of everything he touches is terrifying and there is no telling how Luffy can keep going against that kind of power

Luffy surviving that many stabs and the dehydration is basically a miracle and the way he keeps coming back at Crocodile is pure madness

I felt like the scene with the bomb took way too long to resolve and even though Pell is a hero it dragged out the tension for no reason
tengu_tempest_61's avatar
tengu_tempest_61
Crocodile is genuinely terrifying for ignoring the Poneglyph history just to find Pluton and the way he treated Robin proves he has no soul

I really did not see that betrayal coming even if Robin was always suspicious, and Crocodile is just a total monster for doing that to his own partner. The whole vibe in the royal tomb was so heavy and learning that she can actually read those ancient stones makes her way more important than just some vice president.

Tashigi looks so broken after losing to Robin, and her struggle with what justice even means right now feels really grounded compared to all the crazy powers.

The pacing felt a bit slow while they were walking through the tomb but the reveal about the Poneglyph and Robin being the only one who can read it was huge

Pell flying that bomb into the sky was the most heroic thing any guard has done for Alabasta and his silhouette against the explosion looked so sad

I am actually shocked that Crocodile just stabbed Robin like that and she was just trying to help him find the weapon or maybe she had her own plan all along

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode lands deep in the Alabasta saga's endgame, directly following Luffy's harrowing earlier encounter with Crocodile and pushing the crew closer to the arc's climactic showdown. It serves as a critical bridge, escalating the conflict by revealing the full scope of Crocodile's ambitions while positioning Luffy and his allies for the decisive battles ahead. The next stretch of episodes will pay off everything being set up here, making this essential viewing for the arc's momentum.
