A strong buildup episode where Luffy, Zoro, and the rest of the Straw Hats prepare for a larger confrontation. With Vegapunk at the center of it all, the stakes feel higher than ever, setting up major revelations ahead.

Saturn is absolutely terrifying for what he did to Vegapunk and the way he just discarded him like garbage made the stakes feel way more grounded than the goofy fighting elsewhere

Kizaru looked so conflicted while he was kicking everyone around and you can tell he hates being there almost as much as Vegapunk hates seeing his island get blown up

Luffy was bouncing everywhere and the style was too much of a mess to really follow what was happening during the fight with the Marines and it felt like a step down from previous weeks

The reveal that Bonney finally sees Luffy as Nika should have hit harder, but the CGI, and the way they dragged out the transformation, really sucked the life out of the scene

Watching the Pacifistas target the Marine ships because of the secret command Stella put in for Bonney was a total game changer and it made the Marines look like idiots for trusting Vegapunk

The flashback with Kuma dancing with Bonney made the ending where she hears the drums of liberation hit me so much harder and it made me tear up

I was losing my mind when the Giants finally broke through the fog, because seeing Dorry and Brogy again after all this time is insane. It really felt like the tide turned the second they started laughing, and it made the messy pacing earlier in the episode worth it just to see Elbaf finally coming into play

I screamed when Dorry and Brogy showed up because it has been years since Little Garden and seeing them wreck the fleet was the only thing I cared about

Vegapunk was really playing the long game with the Pacifista override and seeing them turn on the Marines was satisfying even if the animation felt a bit cluttered during the explosions

Luffy literally just ate the whole kitchen and then turned it all into energy in two seconds and then jumped right back into Nika form like nothing even happened

The pacing felt kind of slow during the buster call and it took forever for the action to start It really dragged out the beginning and felt like they were stalling for time

That scene where Kuma shields Bonney while they fall from the sky was so sad It was a relief when the Pacifistas turned around and started blasting the marine ships instead

Those CGI explosions looked a bit messy and really took me out of the moment during the initial naval bombardment It felt like the production was struggling to keep up

Kizaru looked like he was about to have a mental breakdown while attacking his old friends and seeing him hesitate for even a second makes you wonder where his head is

Luffy just laughing off Saturn while doing his Nika dance felt so funny and weirdly empowering and watching him turn the ground into rubber to save everyone while he is just having a blast is exactly what Nika should be

I was looking forward to Bonney finding out the truth about Nika but those wiggling buildings looked so goofy and it ruined the moment for me

The connection between Kuma teaching Bonney that dance and her finally seeing Luffy as Nika hit me harder than I expected and it made those sad flashback episodes feel worth it. My only real gripe was the CGI explosions, and the way they dragged out the reactions from generic marines but seeing Dorry and Brogy again was the highlight

I felt so relieved when Dorry and Brogy showed up out of the fog and hearing their laughs again after all this time felt amazing while they wrecked those ships

I really wanted to enjoy Nika appearing for Bonney but the animation felt a bit choppy and those repetitive shots of the marines reacting to everything made it feel way too slow

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 1139's dramatic escalation with the Buster Call targeting Egghead Island, Episode 1140 pushes the crisis forward with Luffy taking a decisive stand to protect Bonney amidst the chaos. This is a pivotal beat in the Egghead arc's climactic sequence, bridging the threat of total destruction with the forthcoming reinforcements and Vegapunk's major revelations that subsequent episodes will unpack.
