Usopp and Chopper actually working together as a team was great, especially when they tricked Mr 4 into hitting his own partner because she was so annoying

This episode really shows why Usopp is one of the best characters because he is terrified the whole time but still pulls off that insane five ton hammer bluff. The way he stands up for Luffy after getting his skull crushed shows he has more guts than anyone else on the crew even if he spends half the fight running away in circles

You really see how much Usopp cares about Luffy when he takes that massive hit and still refuses to back down because they insulted the dream of becoming pirate king

The concept of a gun that ate a devil fruit is just bizarre and watching it sneeze out exploding baseballs is exactly why this show is so different from everything else

I actually thought that hammer was real and so did Chopper and seeing Miss Merry Christmas freak out like that was so funny

The mole holes made the fight feel a bit slow at points but watching Chopper figure out how to counter the tunneling was a nice touch for his character

It really hit me when Usopp stood up and said you can't laugh at his friends dream and he looked so cool even though he was a total mess

That mole battle was easily the most creative fight in the show so far and the use of the tunnels was super clever

Miss Merry Christmas was being so loud and annoying, so it was great to see her get fooled by a fake balloon hammer

I really did not think Usopp had it in him to take a beating like that and keep standing but his words about Luffy becoming the pirate king were so heavy and honest and it was such a gritty moment for a character who usually runs away and seeing him and Chopper finally win was so cool

You can really see how much Chopper has grown when he stops being scared and helps Usopp pull off that tunnel strategy

I really felt that hit when the four ton bat smashed Usopp and hearing him stand back up to defend the dream of his captain was intense

Those baroque works agents used their mole powers in such a weird way and it made the whole battle feel like a crazy cartoon instead of a normal fight

Usopp standing up while he was literally bleeding out made his loyalty to Luffy so clear, especially when he refused to let anyone laugh at the captain

Chopper and Usopp actually made a great team in those tunnels and their strategy to use the mole holes was clever

I am still laughing at the five ton hammer bluff because Mr 4 and Miss Merry Christmas actually fell for a giant balloon

That four ton bat looked like it actually killed Usopp and it was shocking to see him keep going after his face got smashed in like that

You can really tell the pacing is starting to slow down because this fight took forever and the mole woman has such a grating voice

Watching the underdogs step up and take down two officers using that hammer trick and teamwork was the best part of the day

I never thought Usopp would be the one to give me goosebumps, but that moment he stood up with his face all messed up to defend Luffy's dream was everything.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Deep in the Alabasta arc's climactic stretch, this episode follows the splitting of the Straw Hat crew across Alubarna's battlefields established in Episode 113. Usopp and Chopper's fight is one of several simultaneous confrontations that must resolve before the crew can reunite and face the arc's true endgame. This battle sets the dominoes falling for the remaining matchups and the final push toward the arc's conclusion.
