he crew lands on the futuristic island of Dr. Vegapunk. The contrast between advanced technology and the usual pirate world is refreshing. Curiosity and humor blend well here.

Zoro was so cool just standing there with his hand on his sword while everyone else panicked, and Shaka is right that Lilith was lucky he didn't strike first

Tashigi looking after the giant kids from Punk Hazard was a nice touch and Vice Admiral Doll looks like she has such a cool design for a marine

I was really taken aback by how emotional the scene at G-14 felt with Helmeppo and Hibari. Seeing them so desperate to save Coby after everything that happened at Rocky Port makes me hope they actually get to go. It is a nice change of pace to see the lower ranking marines showing so much heart for their friend

I can't believe Vegapunk is a girl and she has a giant robot. Zoro being ready to slice her before she even realized it was so cool

Wow, when that massive robot just *decked* the shark, I couldn't believe my eyes! It's wild how this arc suddenly dropped us into a sci-fi world; it genuinely feels like a whole new adventure, and I'm so excited to see where it goes after all the Wano craziness.

That colossal mechanical shark was definitely freaking me out, but then Franky just went full gearhead, completely mesmerized by the tech while everyone else was running for their lives. I guess that's just him, huh, always prioritizing the 'super' in everything, even a terrifying sea monster.

It was super weird to see Lilith appearing as Vegapunk when everyone thought he was some old scientist and her bossy attitude is definitely going to cause some trouble

The futuristic look of Egghead is so different from Wano and seeing Luffy try to eat holographic food was hilarious because he never changes even on a science island

Shaka saying Zoro would have cut Lilith down in a heartbeat was so satisfying because it shows how dangerous the crew has become after Wano

Jinbe diving into those freezing whirlpools to save everyone shows why he is such a vital member of the crew and he did it without a second of hesitation

Bonnie mentioning her father being turned into a weapon really got to me, and it makes me wonder what Vegapunk is actually planning with Kuma

I am still reeling from that Vegapunk reveal, because I always pictured a wrinkly old man and then this cool girl in a pilot suit shows up on a giant robot while the way Zoro and Robin stayed so calm under threat was such a cool contrast to the others panicking, and I cannot wait to see what this island actually is

The way Zoro stayed completely calm while that giant robot was threatening the whole ship and Shaka recognized he could have cut it down in a second was so cool

That giant elevator at the end seriously had my jaw on the floor; I mean, what kind of tech is this island even running on? Seeing something 500 years ahead like that alongside a hilarious vending machine just threw me for a loop, and now I'm super hyped for what they'll find exploring this place.

Lilith trying to rob the crew for research money was hilarious especially with Nami protecting the gold and then Shaka calling her out for being reckless was even better

It was funny how Bonnie was so confused by Luffy having white hair on his poster. Her anger at Vegapunk for what happened to Kuma is super justified

I honestly could not believe that girl claiming to be Vegapunk and the way she just demanded money for her research was so different from the old man legend I expected

that mechanical shark leaping out was such a jump scare, I honestly thought the Sunny was toast for a second! then outta nowhere this massive robot just clocks it, and I couldn't help but laugh at how easily it handled something that seemed so threatening.

Jinbe saving Luffy and the others from drowning was such a reminder of why he is the best helmsman. The animation during the underwater rescue was top notch and the scale of the shark was huge

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1090 marks the Straw Hats' first steps into the Egghead Island arc, directly following Episode 1089's pivotal transition away from prior storylines. It functions as a high-energy introduction to an entirely new setting, establishing the technological threats and mysterious figures that will drive the narrative forward. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into Episode 1091, 'Brimming with the Future! An Adventure on the Island of Science!', signaling a sustained arc focused on discovery, science, and escalating danger.
