Alabasta is officially a mess and seeing the rebels finally march on the capital makes the situation feel like there is no turning back now

watching mr 2 trick the rebels like that was cold and then seeing that poor kid get caught in the middle made me so mad at baroque works

Koza's flashback definitely clued me into why he's so upset, but hearing him declare the country needs to die just tore me up inside, especially after all the times we've seen him fight so hard for its people. It's such a tragic turn for someone who obviously cares so much.

I am still trying to figure out how they are going to get out of that sea prism cage, especially since Luffy is totally drained and Smoker is stuck too. It feels like Crocodile has thought of everything, and seeing Vivi so hopeless is hard to watch. I really hope Sanji or Chopper show up soon and do something

crocodile is actually terrifying for making the royal army and the rebels fight each other and he just sits there laughing while the whole country falls apart

seeing luffy and smoker stuck together in that cage is so weird and luffy trying to break out even though he knows he can't use his powers is the most luffy thing ever

the way crocodile just turns into sand and vanishes is so cool and it makes him feel way more dangerous than any villain luffy has fought before

calling this operation utopia when it is literally just causing a civil war is the most evil thing crocodile has done yet and the guy is a total monster

i felt so bad for vivi when she was screaming at crocodile and her voice actress did such a good job making her sound completely desperate to save her people

The way Crocodile turned the love the citizens had for the kingdom into a weapon is dark, and poor Vivi looks so broken watching her country fall apart

Nico Robin is so scary for just stabbing Vivi like that and not even flinching when she took down Pell

My jaw hit the floor when Koza got shot by the fake King and the way the rebellion started was so brutal

Crocodile is way too good at being a villain and making the people of Alabasta hate their own King was a genius move

Putting Smoker in the same cage as Luffy is such a funny situation even though they are all about to drown in there

I honestly feel so bad for Vivi right now, because she is doing everything she can but Crocodile is just ten steps ahead of her, and seeing him use Mr. 2 to turn the entire city against King Cobra was just brilliant writing even if it was evil and I hope Sanji shows up soon to get Luffy and the others out of that cage

That bird guy Pell showed up with such a cool transformation and then Nico Robin just crushed him in two seconds

Seeing Vivi try to stop the rebels while Crocodile just laughs at her from his chair is actually painful and he is a total monster

I am losing my mind over Crocodile using Mr 2 to frame the King and that fake shooting was so dirty

The way Koza's idealism just got crushed by a single bullet is such a dark turn for this arc, and seeing the rebellion charge in without knowing the truth is terrifying

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode marks the critical turning point of the Alabasta arc, shifting from the Rainbase confrontations with Crocodile into the full-scale execution of Baroque Works' endgame. Everything the Straw Hats have fought through — crossing the desert, surviving Crocodile's traps — now converges as the rebellion mobilizes and the country hurtles toward civil war. It directly sets the stage for the arc's climactic battles and Vivi's most desperate hour.
