A calm but dangerous setup introducing key adversaries. The tension comes from anticipation.

seeing the rebel army moving to katorea while the straw hats are stuck in a sandstorm shows how fast things are falling apart

those baroque works agents are such a weird group of freaks, and i can already tell they are going to be a problem for the crew. then you have vivi and toto meeting in that dried up town, and it just makes crocodile look like a monster for what he did to their water supply and the way he treated yuba

the way the baroque works agents keep arguing is actually hilarious and mr 2 is already a standout character for sure

mr 2 jumping around and annoying mr 1 was the best part of the whole meeting because their chemistry is so bad it works

crocodile and robin talking about their plans in the shadows is making the situation in alabasta feel so much more dangerous

near_nemesis_114
finding out yuba is just a giant sand pit was a massive shock after they spent all that time trekking through the heat and sand, and seeing toto still digging for water made it way worse, and the way it went from that sad desert to the fancy cafe meeting felt so heavy because the bad guys are just relaxing while the locals are struggling

seeing all the elite agents together in one room really made me feel like the straw hats are way out of their league for once

the way the new agents look like miss doublefinger and mr 4 is so bizarre and it makes the baroque works crew feel way scarier

vivi looks so devastated standing in the middle of that dead city knowing the rebellion isn't even there to help her anymore

nami actually sewing that paper from ace into luffy's hat was a really nice touch, especially since you know he would just lose it or eat it otherwise

crocodile is such a creep for calling his plan project utopia while the whole country is literally starving and dying in the sand

mr 2 is honestly so loud and weird compared to the other agents and seeing him pick a fight with mr 1 immediately at the cafe was hilarious

Finding out the rebel army isnt even in Yuba anymore is such a huge setback after they spent all that time crossing the desert and dealing with the heat

Bon Clay is definitely the highlight of the Baroque Works meeting, but the reveal that the rebels moved to Katorea really messes up the Straw Hats whole plan
