chopper is putting the whole alliance on his back, and seeing him fight through the ice oni virus just to save the samurai shows how much he has grown

Marco trying to hold off both King and Queen simultaneously just left my jaw on the floor, I mean, the guy is seriously carrying the entire alliance's momentum right now! It made me wonder how much more he can possibly endure, knowing he's the only one truly holding down that floor.

my brain actually struggled to process how huge hyogoro looked in his prime form and he really cleared that floor while the virus was taking over

the animation this week was seriously impressive, and you can tell the team really loves wano. I loved seeing marco toss queen around like a ragdoll but king is clearly on another level, since he just wont take any damage. hyogoro looking at luffy in the flashback while he was preparing to die actually had me tearing up a bit

old man hyogoro went so hard this week and seeing him back in his prime was crazy because he really is a legend for wano

When Hyogoro made that final decision to embrace death rather than become a monster, I felt such a wave of admiration and sorrow for him. It was truly devastating, but I understood his resolve to maintain his dignity. That choice just showed me how deep his convictions run, echoing the unwavering spirit I've seen in so many Wano samurais.

That flashback to Luffy learning Ryou in prison was a nice touch, it really grounded the stakes for Hyogoro as he prepares to die for the new generation

Hyogoro going back to his massive prime form and slicing through everyone was incredible and he really showed the strength of a true Wano leader

I still can't get over seeing Boss Hyogoro back in his prime form because he was absolutely shredding through those Beast Pirates and I loved every second of that action sequence

Seeing Carrot and Wanda defeated like that by Perospero was actually pretty brutal and it makes the candy man feel like a real threat for once instead of just a joke

Perospero is such a menace for taking out Carrot and Wanda just because the moon went behind some clouds and it really shows how much luck plays a part in these big wars

Marco taking on both King and Queen at the same time is easily one of the coolest things he has done yet and the way those blue flames looked on screen was incredible

I got chills when Zoro cut through those fire and lightning attacks on the roof while he was protecting a resting Luffy

EPISODE CONTEXT

Picking up after Episode 1021's focus on Sanji navigating his personal conflicts, this episode pivots to the broader alliance war effort, spotlighting mentor-disciple dynamics amid escalating battles. It serves as emotional connective tissue in the larger siege arc, grounding the chaos in character relationships before the narrative shifts toward a critical tactical development. The following episode, 'All Set! Chopperphage Nebulizer!', moves the focus to Chopper and a pivotal antidote deployment, making this entry the calm-before-the-storm beat that deepens stakes ahead of that payoff.
