Black Maria using brass knuckles on Sanji was brutal and it made that rescue from Brook and Robin feel so much more earned when they broke through the webs

Robin showing up to slap Black Maria was easily the best thing to happen in the whole raid so far and her dialogue about being relied on was so perfect for her character

The animation during that General Franky victory flash was looking crisp and I liked how the energy slash actually left a giant mark on Sasaki

Sanji screaming for Robin was actually great and it shows how much he trusts her now instead of trying to carry everything alone like he did in Whole Cake

When Carrot lost her Sulong form and Perospero started gloating, my stomach dropped because it felt so incredibly unfair after everything Pedro sacrificed for them. I just wanted someone to shut him up; seeing her have to endure that really made me so mad for her.

I feel like people are being too hard on Sanji for crying out, because it shows he actually views Robin as a capable warrior who can handle herself. He isn't treating her like a fragile doll anymore, and that is huge growth from Enies Lobby. Plus Robin looked absolutely terrifying when she showed up to smack Black Maria for hurting him

I couldn't believe how cold and lethal Robin looked when she stepped in with that giant hand slap to protect her cook

Having the clouds cover the moon and take away the Sulong forms for Carrot and Wanda felt so unfair, but Perospero is a monster for laughing at them while they were down

Sanji just letting himself get pummeled without even trying to use Haki before he screamed for Robin had me so frustrated, like c'mon man, where's that fighting spirit I know you have? I was really hoping he'd push through it himself, but nope, he just collapsed and yelled for help, which honestly felt like a major regression for him after all the growth he's had.

When Sanji finally screamed out Robin's name, my breath caught; I honestly didn't think he'd break his tough guy act like that. It made me realize just how much he's always tried to handle everything himself, so him putting all his faith in her in that moment was incredibly moving.

Robin appearing out of the shadows and saving Sanji from that spider web trap with her giant arms was such a strong way to end the episode

The way Sanji finally called out for Robin was a huge moment, and it actually made people respect his code more because he chose his trust in her over his own pride as a fighter. Seeing the quality of the animation for Brook and Robin arriving and cutting him free definitely made up for how slow those torture scenes felt

General Franky catching that triceratops and throwing it through a wall was such a cool display of power and that Victory V Flash looked like a move straight out of a mecha show

The way Black Maria used brass knuckles on a defenseless Sanji was genuinely hard to watch and it made Robin stepping in to defend her teammate feel even more powerful

Sanji yelling for Robin was actually beautiful and he finally trusts his crew enough to let them handle things he cannot do himself instead of just suffering in silence

Black Maria using brass knuckles on Sanji felt way too brutal and the pacing during the torture scenes was dragging a bit too much

It totally grinded my gears seeing Carrot and Wanda lose their Sulong forms mid-fight against Perospero because of those dumb clouds, like, couldn't they have held on for just a few more minutes? I was really hoping they'd get their full revenge this time, especially after what Perospero did to Pedro.

Sanji screaming for help is easily the best thing to happen this arc and it felt like a massive weight was lifted when he finally chose to trust his crew instead of trying to be a lonely hero Black Maria really thought she broke him but he just showed her what actual loyalty looks like and now Robin is finally going to go off

Franky using the Victory V Flash against that triceratops was awesome and he really is a legend for holding down the fort while everyone else is busy

Carrot really struggling against Perospero got me thinking about Pedro and his sacrifice, and man, the moon disappearing right when she needed it most just felt so unfair. I was really rooting for her to unleash everything, but that timing was just brutal.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 1019's focus on Otama's alliance-shifting plan, this episode pivots to Sanji's personal crisis deep within Onigashima, adding emotional complexity to the larger raid. It directly sets up Episode 1021, 'Spank Strikes! Sanji's Woman-trouble!', continuing the thread of Sanji's struggles and the crew dynamics that define how they fight together. This stretch of episodes layers individual character arcs on top of the massive battle, keeping the stakes personal even as the war rages.
